step1 :A customer clicks on a product image
step2 :The system then takes the customer to the cart page displaying
the product/s that the customer have selected in a datagrid.
step3 :The system must also calculate the total price of all products in datagrid.

I'm trying to operate with event logs in my asp.net application,here is my code:

EventLog ev = new EventLog("MyAppLog",".","MyApp");<br />
EventLogPermission ep = new EventLogPermission(PermissionState.Unrestricted);<br />
ep.Assert();<br />
ev.Clear();<br />
A Win32Exception raised when runing to ev.Clear(): System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception:Aceess denied.
What's the problem in my code? Or any other advice to me?
Note these code is running under the ASPNET windows account.

user control(A) has a button, when button is clicked i raise an event.
at default aspx, i have another users control(B), a textbox to specify number of A and a linkButton named "Fill", and a another button named "POST THE PAGE"
B is a container for A and user input number then click Fill button then i add A s inTo B at runtime. i added event in B for A's buttonClick event also i add addhandler command for catching B's buttonclick event in default.aspx.
i noticed when i clicked Linkbutton, A's and B's page load event is RAISED before LinkButton Click event. i know if i add controls at pageload i dont need to add addhandler for events. So i used a public method _FillTheTable to fill A into the page. But FillTheTable is called after the page load.
at the end, i click "POST THE PAGE", so that i dont fill the table with A s at page load event,after the page is posted back, i see page is empty :S
What i have to do to solve this problems?

what is thr Disadvantages of using Using Context Object to pass parameter between pages?
the folowing is example

this.Context.Items["x"] = TextBox1.Text;
Server.Transfer("page2.aspx", true);
//page2.aspx.cs
TextBox1.Text = this.Context.Items["x"].ToString();

The disadvantage is that you can pass between pages only within the scope of the paticular request.
You cannot use Response.Redirect() with Collection Item.... If you use Server.Transfer the URL does not get updated for the users.
You can use Session Object.

I understand from you the following:
If we pass variable value from page 1 to page 2 by using context.item and server.transfer
We can get the variable value in page 2 only so we can not get it in page 3 or page 4
But if we use session we can get it during the session in any page but it will consume the RAM and professional programmer don’t prefer to use the session

Do not use QueryString........
Put it is a session and transfer to other pages.

OK, im using context.item["x"] and server.transfer("test.aspx",true)
but it will effect RAM and application Performance?
And is there any disadvantages?
And as I know the professional programmer don’t prefer to use session !

Hi Naif_Prof,
Session object has improved a lot from classic ASP to ASP.NET 1.1 and especially 2.0. I believe Professional programmer do use session object these days.
If you do not want to use session object, you have two options.
a) Use query string..........but all the input information is visible to users in the URL.
b) You can use cross page posting which is availabe in 2.0... you can check in the google.
Or,
Go to Fritz Onion webcast in webcasts series for ASP.NET 1.1 (Control based Programming ASP.NET), he talks about Multipage issues.

i am shaik abdul gani working as software engineer .i have developed an web application that is perfectly runs good on internet explorer ... but the problem is when i am running the same application on mozilla it is gving some errors( means the format of the web page is changed and some of the java script is not running properly) so is there any soution for this .. is there is any syntax for migrating the web apllication from internet explorer to mozilla so that it can run on both perfectly..

Replies goes in the message board, not to some e-mail. If you are too lazy to use the message board, why would anybody bother to reply?
The difference in rendering is most likely because you rely on some of the rendering bugs in Internet Explorer in your layout. As the Mozilla browser doesn't have those bugs, the page is actually rendered correctly, eventhough not as you intended. This is very common when people develop web applications for Internet Explorer and not testing them in any other browser.
The problems with the Javascripts is probably because you used some of the non-standard additions that Internet Explorer has. For example, the all collection only exists in Internet Explorer.
If you want your application to work in most browsers, you have to stick to the standards. Unfortunately, Internet Explorer is the browsers that is the worst when it comes to following standards, at least version 6.
Open up the Javascript/Error console in Mozilla, it will give you helpful information about errors in Javascript, markup and css.

Hi
I have 2 page 1)Master 2)Pop-Up(window.open). Now i open 2 of this master page. From 1 of them i open this popup which is part of same session and copy the url and past it in other opened master page which has different session. Now if i press Go the the current session is being modified by the popup-ups session.
Why is it so ?? Why session variable become null. I have checked google and taken all possible measure still no luck.
Pls help me.

I have a design task! Please advice me which are the technologies to use.
The simple block diagram:

The web server has to connect to TCP server socket as a client.
The data sent by TCP server has to be forwarded to appropriate
browser(every browser has a unique number & this number will be
attached in data). TCP server sends data asynchronously.
It should be possible to send a data from web server to TCP server
on a request from browser(along with unique number).
Please guide me how to forward the data received from TCP server
to unique browser.
