I have...
-formA (web form) it contains a listbox and pop up button
-formB (pop up window from formA) using window.showModalDialog in a javascript within a "script" tag in form A.aspx file, it contains two text boxes and submit button
what i want is to take two value of text boxes in formB
and use them to add a new list item (the first formB textbox value is the value of the list item and the second formB textbox value is the listitem's text) in formA listbox
how can i implement that?

because many things are related together, if u have read the details you would know ...
In other scenarios i might 
first, it's not in one form, it's 2 forms parent and pop up
second, i want to access if from javascript
third, to get highest performance u need to reduce the sessions in ur app

can u reach the variable from both forms??!
and if u think like this, 2 variable * 1,000 user = 2,000 session opened with the server, that would exhaust the server
so what about 10,000 user
what would happen?
anyway, i implemented it by myself without using sessions

Put the values in an array and assign the array to window.returnValue, then close the window. The array becomes the return value of the showModalDialog call.

Hi,
I want to implement a DropDownList control in IE with the same features as the drop down lists seem to have in Mozilla. In IE I currently have a DropDownList of width 150px, but the text that is displayed in the drop down takes up more than 150px. I'd like to be able to have the list of choosable items to stretch to allow all text to be seen, but at the same time keeping the combo box itself to 150px width. This happens by default in Firefox, does anyone have any ideas how this is done in IE?

Hi,
In my website, I have used a Master Pages concept, wherein I have created a pop down menu in the master page and called various child pages in the Master's container.
One of the child pages have a following style applied at page level

Because of this whenever the user goes to this page, the Master page's menu Root options also change color to Red or Blue, depending on which was clicked earlier. When I saw the View Source of the whole page, it shows the menu rendered as Hyperlink.
How can we stop the menu options from changing colors ?
Pls help me.. Else I am gone

In ASP.NET 2003
I created one web page and i used inline codings in that with validation controls.
In local machine, it's working very fine. But if i uploaded in remote server, validation controls are not working....
So, i include this line in my page as :

and also i gave the specific location for the src in that. Now the validation working very fine, but the clicking event[ no other event ] can't generated.....
Please help me..........

Try using the FileUpload Control
and the command FileUpload1.PostedFile.SaveAs(SaveToAddress);

hi,
i have one site which is in ASP. now in that site i have a link which will redirect to another ASP.Net site.
Now i want to open that ASP.Net site within a ASP site so how can solve this problem ?
I have put Iframe in ASP site but in that I have to specify height. But my ASP.Net page's size is not fixed it will vary as per my data as i have put dataGrid in ASP.Net site.
Please solve this..

I'm not sure, but I think you should play around with viewstate. You can set EnableViewState property of your textboxes to false, or you can set this property to be false for whole page, if you don't need viewstate at all. Or you can override LoadViewState or SaveViewState methods of your Page class. Or you can simply go through all controls and if a control is type of TextBox set its text to ""

Dear All

the pop up window contains two text boxes, what i want is to know how can i pass the values of the text boxes to the parent form to ass them to the listbox?
i want the first textbox to be the listitem's text and the second textbox to be the value of that listitem
i know i should use java script (maybe window.opener ...) but i need some clues to do the implementation

u can use the session variables hope tht'll help u.
assign value to session variable.
session["txt1"]=TextBox1.text;
retrive value from session variable
string sessiontxt=session["txt1"].tostring();
