If you first sort the array, you can easily loop through it to look for duplicates, as they are then next to each other.

Use the Array.Sort method.

Hey I thought it was possible to place an asp textbox inside a table but i cannot seem to get it to work.
Is it possible and if so can any one point me in the direction?
Thanks
Dan

Yes, it's possible to place a textbox inside a table, you simply add a html table[^] (not the server table[^] control) to the web page, add the tr, td stuff to the table and finally add the textbox. You basically use the server table control to add dynamic controls in code-behind.

Hi,
In my code I would like to update my gridview with a client callback to the server (update, insert and delete).
Client callback just returns a string, how would I use that to say insert a new row, update a row? Can I use data source control from javascript?
Thanks
Ben

Hi there. Have you tried using the GridView control with the Microsoft Ajax[^]?

sorry I'm using asp.net 2.0

i think there is no conflict between asp.net 2.0 and asp.net ajax . using asp.net ajax could done this work perfect.

I am using Visual Studio 2005 / .Net 2.0 / WinXP SP2 / IIS 5.x on Win 2000 server w/ SP3
It works fine on unsecured/public servers
I am writing a browser hosted image viewing application/control for viewing waaay oversized images (usually ~4000X4000 at 300dpi) that should work in both browser pages, secured or not, and in applications. It has the ability to scale/rotate/move the image around as well as the ability to email/fax one or more loaded images. When the user allows full unrestricted trust, it can interact with Outlook to email images. When the trust is below that, it uses SMTP to direct send the email with attachments.
The component works fine on all servers on which I have tested, including all email options, except when run from a secure (https) site.
On an https/secure site, when I set the policy below full trust, and I attempt to email, it uses SMTP as it should. However, when it tries to create the SmtpClient object (obj = SmtpClient(<host>)), I get the following exception during the call:
System.Xml.XmlException: '>' is an unexpected token. The expected token is '"' or '''. Line 2, position 63.
Originally, it complained the error was coming from a file called "iexplore.exe.config", however this file does not exist anywhere. I followed MS MSDN configuration suggestion and added a configuration link to the ASP.NET page and creating a "config" for my application. Now I am still getting the same error, but from the apps' config file, which only has an empty "configuration" tag at this point. I cannot seem to find anything else useful online about this (most google searches give me mostly useless unrelated junk).
If it helps, here is the exact error message I get:

<b>I fixed this problem and it's not longer an issue.</b>
I renamed the PageHTML literal to Literal1 and it works. I haven't researched it but my gut
feeling tells me I'm using the PageHTML literal in the master page this page derives from
and that's a problem I'd guess.
Anybody see what I'm doing wrong with my asp:Literal "PageHTML"? Oddly enought "CommentsHTML" shows up fine. But PageHTML is always blank. Another odd one is that I can put any text I want after the closing literal tag for PageHTML and that text appears fine. So it must be something inside the PageHTML from the DB but what?
<asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="ContentPlaceHolder1" runat="Server">
<div>
<br />
<table align="left" style="width: 448px; position: relative; top: -19px; height: 320px">
<tr>
<td rowspan="2" style="width: 179px; height: 237px" valign="top">
<asp:Image ID="Image1" runat="server" Height="228px" Style="position: relative" Width="172px" /></td>
<td align="left" rowspan="2" style="height: 237px" valign="top">
<asp:Literal ID="PageHTML" runat="server" /></td>
</tr>
<tr>
</tr>
<tr>
<td colspan="2" style="height: 21px">
<asp:Literal ID="CommentsHTML" runat="server" /></td>
</tr>
</table>
</div>
</asp:Content>
Here's the contents I'm passing into PageHTML:
<p><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2"><strong>Mrs. Jane Wilson<br />
</strong>Mrs. Wilson has been at Bishop Kelly for 29 years. Ms. Wilson is a member of the Art Department.</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2"><strong>Email</strong><br />
<a href="mailto:jwilson@bk.org">jwilson@bk.org</a></font></p>
<p><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2"><strong>Education </strong><br />

Master's in Art Education from Boise State University.</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2"><strong>Class Schedule</strong></font></p>

<li><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Art/Painting</font> </li>
<li><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Pottery</font> </li>
<li><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Pottery</font> </li>

Now if I replace all the HTML in the DB with plain text "Plain text." it still won't show. But if I type "Plain text." after the closing literal it shows right up? So I guess it's something in my ContentPlaceHolder HTML...

Hi Rex,
You can view source the web page and see if the text stored in DB is brought back to the client side from the server?

I modified my first post that I figured this out but because I disabled HTML in it it's hard to spot. Have a look at the very top of my first post and tell me if my conclusion makes sense. I'm thinking the fact I was using an ASP:LITERAL of the same name in the master page was the problem. I renamed the literal after I realized this and it seemed to fix things.
