Assuming your app isn't distributed to others it just needs to be somewhere not accessible to the public. In the code isn't great from a maintenance point of view so I'd say either the webconfig or another config file in a non-public directory.

Hey.
I created a simple remoting server, which is hosting one remoting object(which inherits from MarshalByRefObject), mode Singleton. The remoting object declares a public method and one event. I want my client application to be a asp.net web page. I create a reference to the remote object in void Application_Start(object sender, EventArgs e). When i call the remote function everything work fine. But when the event on the remoting server is triggered, nothing happens.
Did anyone had similar problems before?
Is this even possible(to have remote events in asp.net application?
Any advices will be helpfull

Hello group,
I am trying this command but i dont know its not working..
its not giving any error...but data is not getting inserted..i have tried to insert breakpoint..but program doesnt stop here..

Both the fact that nothing gets inserted and that a breakpoint in the code is never hit suggests that the code is never executed at all. In that case the error is not in the code that you have shown, but elsewhere.
Also, you haven't shown any code that actually uses the insert command that you create.

if i type date in textbox means pictures must change after 30 days from i typed date.for ex,there are 3 option button named as 30 days,60 days,120 days i type date as march 3 then i click 60 days option button means pictures must change after 60 days in background using javascript otherwise if i click 30 days option button means pictures must change after 30 days in background using javascript like that 120 days option button also.

Try to write a subject line that does anything towards distinguishing your thread from other threads. Almost every thread here is a request for help, and the urgency of the matter is information that seldom needs to be in the subject line.
You can use the AddDays method of the DataTime structure to calculate the selected date.
Other than that, you haven't really supplied enough information to base any advice on. The process of "pictures must change" doesn't even tell if the operation is manual or automatic. You can't use Javascript to do any background work, however. Javascript runs in the browser, and a page can't run if there is noone requesting it.

Hi all,
i am new to this ASp.net 2.0(C#) programming. I need a class which loops through every Character of a given String and basket them as two seperate string variable by the following.
One basket will collect only input string start from a to g and the other collect h to z character.
for eg: microsoft is the input string.
in that first basket it will have "cf" and in the second basket it will have "mirosot".

I would use myString.ToCharArray() to generate the array of characters. Create two StringBuilder objects. Then loop through the array using a compare function to determine which StringBuilder gets the character.

You can use a regular expression to match the characters. Call Regex.Replace with a delegate that will store away each matched character and replace it with an empty string.
Something like:
string second = string.Empty;<br />
string first = Regex.Replace(text, "[a-z]+", delegate(Match m){ second += m.Value; return string.Empty; } );
If the string might be large, a StringBuilder would be better for collecting the characters.

hi i am new to this forum so please bear with me
i am desiging a page in which i have a menu bar on the left of the page and in the center i have the product to be displayed and on the right i have a banner
what i want to achieve is something like this
when i click on the menu item the center portion of the page should chagne without refreshing the page. The center page is built on dynamic tables.
Iam using asp.net (VB.net)
i have created the application but i have to convert it to AJAX so it removes the postbacks
any help would be highly appreciated

I am working with Visual Studio.NET 2003 and I have to generate a word report at the client side. Thing is that i must also configure tha password for the same.Meaning to say when the end user clicks on the Open Button in the File Download Dialog Boxit must prompt for the password.
I included Microsoft.Word 9.0 Object Library. But still i was not able to access Microsoft.Office.Word.Interop Namespace.
So i wrote the code as..

Thanks Vasudevan.It was a good link. But when i used the code from there, it was giving error as System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: Could not open macro storage.
i set <identity impersonate="true" /> in Web.config file and still it was not working.

I am using master page. I created a Menu control on Master Page. When I use it on a child page or content page, my menu goes down the controls of content page. the labels, textboxes etc. appeares on top of my menu. how can I get rid of this problem?

I think you have missed something in your Master Page.
Hope you did in this way:
I. Master Page should contain:
<asp:Menu>
<Items>
<!-- Whatever Items that you wanted to add -->
</Items>
</asp:Menu>
<asp:contentplaceholder id="CPH" runat="server">
</asp:contentplaceholder>
II. In your web application should contain all labels, textboxes within
Content tags.
<%@ Page Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/MasterPageFile.master" ... %>
<asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="CPH" runat="Server">
<!-- Text boxes, labels or anything else -->
</asp:Content>
Make sure that Content Place holder id is same as in Master Page.
