i save the value in this form

Instead of adding onclick event in RowDataBound, try adding it in ItemCreated one.....

Try like this :

private void Grdplace_ItemCreated(object sender, System.Web.UI.WebControls.DataGridItemEventArgs e)
{
e.Item.Attributes.Add("onClick","RowClicked('"+ e.Item.Cells[0].Text +"')");
}

I've used c#.net,Please cahnge as VB.NET

HTTP is the protocol of the web, go look it up at WikiPedia for the ins and outs of it. SOAP is an XML web service protocol (one of many) and runs on top of HTTP. You can't really compare them, they have different purposes.

Come to think of it you can look them both up at WikiPedia for extensive explanations.

I'm fairly sure that you have to pay for the SDK. I was supposed to do some dev work in it several years ago, but the project never happened.

Crystal report is not working on client

I have developed a crystal report in asp.net 2005.I execute the following code.
objReportDocument.Load(Server.MapPath(ReportFileName));
objReportDocument.SetDataSource(dsReport.Tables[0]);

CrrptViewer.ReportSource = objReportDocument;
CrrptViewer.DataBind();

i have pasted partial code only.
Problem is that the crystal report is working on all machines where asp.net is installed but not working on system where asp.net is not installed.
Please tell the solution in detail.

hi guys

in .net when we want to derive a class from another class we use this syntax.

public class MyDerivedClass : MyBaseClas
{
...

but whenever we create any class, it is automatically get derived from system.object.. how it happens and who does it...

e.g.

public class TestClass
{
public string FirstName;
public string LastName;
}

if you have noticed any way that whenever we create object of this class in our code, we get Equals(), ToString(), GetHashCode() and another method of System.Object class also..

can any body explain

Actually, any class is by default derived from System.Object class.
System.Object class is at the top level in hierarchy and even if you don't derive from it explicitly,it is done automatically.
This is the .net framework feature.

Hi,
You can do something like this
protected void grdCat_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e)
{
if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow || e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.Header)
{
if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow)
{
CheckBox chkSelAll = new CheckBox( );
chkSelAll = (CheckBox)(e.Row.Cells[8].FindControl("chkSelAll"));
chkSelAll.Checked = true;
}
}
}

Here you need to first check if the row being bound is what type of row. Then as per the requirement, Dynamically type cast an existing control from the GridView to required control type and then use its properties as you do usually.

the hyperlinkfield does not have a id so getting it through FindControl is
not possible. could not help myself with your code.

Hi,
Ok.. You can instead use a normal hyperlink <a> inside a template column and then access it using the predefined column. Ofcourse check if a normal hyperlink suffices your other requirements..

i cannot use template column since i had to do sorting .i had to work with hyperlinkfield only.
