If you want to do this manually what I suggested will still work. If you want a to have a web application be able to copy over to a different server that is a bad idea. You really don't want to give your web server rights on another server. Still if you feel this is something you really want to do it can be done. The web site that is trying to write to the other web site needs to be running under a new app pool. The identity of this app pool should be setup as that network user I talked about before that has write rights to the other server on the network. NOTE that the user must have rights on the share and on the file system. NOTE that user must be a member of the IIS_WPG group on the web server as well.

Hi Friends,
In my project there are so many hidden fields in all of my aspx pages.In Html they declared simply like this
But in cs file it is not used.In the same page Html Textbox there in the onclick event The Id of the hidden field
the function implemented in javascript.Even there also not assigned any value so how it is possible?this is in VS.NET 2005

Hi friends,
I have need to read .pdf file in ASP.NET and save it's content to database. Is it possible for that i have seen most of sites like, tallComponent, Xtranet etc. but from them i found that we can create pdf file but can not read it's content expects form in pdf bcoz we can read only form data from pdf. Exactly i need to develop like acrobat reader but not all facility. Only search, no. of bookmarks, no. of links. I also want to convert .pdf to .swf file if possible.

i'm developing an application for venue booking
i have two datasets ds1, ds2
ds1-contains venue booking information (bookingId, venueId, date, startTime, endTime)
ds2-contains venues information (venueId, name, capacity...etc)
my goal is to display the available venue from user specified date and timeslot(startTime, endTime)
so, the idea is when the venueId exist in ds1, delete the same venueId in ds2 so that it will not be displayed to the user, but my code doesn't seem to work.
any other idea? i'm new to this asp.net thing

I assume that U R creating the 2 datasets by querying from 2 different tables.
Instead of filtering the ds2, query records for ds2 as needed.
And the query might be:
select * from VenueInfo where VenuID not in
(select VenuID from BookingInfo where <condition to filter based on date> )
The condition might be:
(startTime>userStartTime and startTime<userEndTime)
or ( endTime>userStartTime and endTime<userEndTime)
This condition should check neither the userStartTime nor
the userEndTime fall in the booked range.

I have a username and opassword text boxes and one login button. When I type password it checks three times weather my username and password is correct or not. After 3 failed attempts it gives me message that Notify your administrator.
I used form Authnication. How can I count weather user attempts 3 times. My username and password is stored in database

Add one more feild in your database named lock_flg.If user is entering correct pwd means nothing to do with this lock_flg.Otherwise update lock_flg as one.Each and every time when user enters wrong pwd increment the value of lock_flg and update it.When that lock_flg becomes 3 you wil come to know that user entered wrong pwd 3 times.

I think this will not work fine.
Consider the scenario:
On Monday he spells wrong password for the first time and
enter correct password in the next time.
The same happens for 3 days.
He cannot log on the next time.
We will have to give provision for making the flag to ZERO
when the user enters right password.

What did you expect this to do ? You're incrementing n outside your while loop, so it looks likely to me that it will loop forever. Your SQL is ripe for injection attacks. I don't see how this can work at all, or at least, how it can do anything.

can someone please tell me, if it is possible (and how) to generate a server-generated-error like "HTTP 404 - File not found" or "HTTP 403.4 - Forbidden: SSL is required to view this resource error" from within a asp.net WebMethod call?
All this exception stuff that I tried, produced a "HTTP 500 Internal server error"
