Hi Socheat.Net,
Wht does this mean ?
Response.Cookie("username")=txtUser.Text
Response.Cookie("password")=txtpwd.Text
Do u have already created two cookies as named above, username and password. I don't think so.
Write rather like this,
HttpCookie ck = new HttpCookie("username");
ck.Value = txtUser.Text;
DateTime dt = new DateTime(DateTime.Now.Year+1, DateTime.Now.Month, DateTime.Now.Day); //use ur expiration
ck.Expires = dt;
ck.Expires = dt;
Response.Cookies.Add(ck);

Hi,
Am just learning ASP.NET can u tell me wats the difference if the first parameter in a event handler is source or sender? Tht is, if it is EventHandler1(object source, EventArgs e) or EventHandler2(object sender, EventArgs e). What does that actually signify?
Regards,
Sriraj.

Sender signifies the object raising the event. If you click on a button then sender will be button object.

Thanks Prakash. but one more small clarification I need then sometimes I have seen that, this is replaced with Source. Tht is (Object Source, ...) Wat does tht mean? source is being used in which context?

Sriraj.

See look only over upon the type of argument that supplied to function.
Source is the only variable that is of type object so it doesnt matter whether it is sender or source, the logic is same

As far as I'm aware they're the same thing, just two different conventions for naming the variable....typical of MS to not stick to their own naming conventions . Remember, the name of the variable doesn't matter, basically it will always reference the control that fired the event (sometimes it might be null but not sure why)

Hi,

gridViewData.DataSource = dtable;
But one column i want it to be a hyperlink type. so in the .cs file, what i need to do to set that particular column as hyperlinkField?
I know it can be done in HTML page, but i load the gridview at runtime, so need to later set one coulmn as HyperLinkField...how i do it?

Handle row created event of the gridview, get the row and create a hyplink object and add it to the current row of the grid view.

Hey Make the Auto Generate column in the grid view as False and in the Grid View Control SYntax just add as how i did it.
For Ex:
<columns><br />
<br />
<asp:hyperlinkfield headertext="Title"<br />
datatextfield="title"<br />
datanavigateurlfields="title_id" <br />
datanavigateurlformatstring="details_title.aspx?titleid={0}" /><br />
<br />
...<br />
<br />
</columns><br />

Hi All
Im a novice to this so apologies for what may be a stupid question.
I have spent a few days desperately trying to figure out a formmail (in contact page) on my first ASPNET web site. All my pages are coded aspx and when I try find a script for formmail for this there seems to be a dead end. I have tried various alternatives such as sticking an html form table and section into the aspx page with reference to an asp form to process, but it also seems to grind to a halt. The OS is a windows package with full ASPNet 2 and asp functionality (as well as php, etc).
Could anyone point me to:
1) A (simple) formmail designed specifically to be handled in aspx? or
2) How I can set up the asp formamil in an aspx page so it works?
I know this is a borad one, but any advice would be much appreciated!!!!!

ASP.NET has classes for sending email, so you can design any sort of form, and send your email on postback.

Hi Christian
Thanks for the reply!
Is there any complete working sample/ tutorial of a feedback form for aspx pages using ASPNet2 with samples shown and pages that I can go through in details to see this in a working setup?
