Hi Friends,
Can any one help me with my website(http://www.sharetosave.co.uk/[^]) connection it gives following error when I upload it to the server i.e. hosting company server.
Exception Details: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'MySql.Data, Version=5.0.7.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=c5687fc88969c44d' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
Everything runs fine on my local server.
Web hosting company says that MySql.Data.dll is in GAC and I need to put reference i web.config
I put that Reference as follow.
<add assembly="MySql.Data, Version=5.0.7.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=994bc1102e243463">
Can any one help please? Its been more than 2 weeks between me and web hosting company we are unable to resolve the problem.

I guess they don't have the same version of MySQL installed.

Do you know how you search on google or yahoo, msn etc.. and type in a certain phrase,lets say "blue cats in florida" how do I get that phrase on my landing page without having to type the phrase ? Does anyone know what I mean ?

Do a google search, then look at the URL, the way to build them is pretty straightforward

Any search engine (Google, Yahoo, MSN) basically works on the Meta tag of the any webpage. For ex:- If you feed any query to Google, then Google first searches Meta Tag, Title, Contents of the all the web-pages. Then make a bunch of all the related web-pages, after that rank the web-pages based on thier relativeness to the query.

Hey all,
I have a TreeNode, and I'm trying to set the NavigateURL to call a JavaScript function of mine.
When I do:
node.NavigateURL = "javascript:alert('123');";
It works fine, but when I do:
node.NavigateURL = "javascript:myfunction('123');";
Nothing happens... here is the JavaScript function I'm using (if it helps):

function myfunction(page)
{
alert(page);
}
</script>
Can anybody see what I am doing wrong here?

On the definition, it doesn't say anything. But on other parts of MSDN and the ASP.NET forums, it says to use "javascript:void(0);" inside the NavigateURL, so I took the presumption that I could call JavaScript functions this way.
If this is the wrong way, could you please tell me what is the correct method for calling JavaScript functions from clicking a TreeNode, please?

Which makes use of JavaScript in the NavigateURL, so it would appear it's the commonly used method, how-ever I cannot determine why mine will not work. I'll need to get myself a JavaScript debugger if nobody is sure.

I got a JavaScript debugger, and found the problem lied within my JS function, I had a small typo in there, which crashed the entire function. After fixing the typo, the method works perfectly.

I recieved this error in different situation in different pages :
Exception Details: System.Web.HttpException: Validation of viewstate MAC failed. If this application is hosted by a Web Farm or cluster, ensure that <machinekey> configuration specifies the same validationKey and validation algorithm. AutoGenerate cannot be used in a cluster.
I think there is a difference between machine.config and my web.config but i dont konw what.

Where are you binding the textbox ?
you need to persist the values added/or bind the textbox in Initialize event. Also check the ViewState attribute of Page directive in the aspx page make true and try one more time

Any controls that you add dynamically, you have to recreate every time the page reloads.
The state of the controls is stored in ViewState, but not the controls themselves. If you just recreate the controls, they will pick up the state from ViewState themselves.

Hi,
You can use Request.Form collection to get the values of textboxes parameter. For that you need to know their client ID.

Now when I run my asp.net web application using the default web server (http://localhost: <portnumber>), the application runs successfully and I can access my sql server 2000 database. I granted permissions to ASPNET user and it works fine.
But when I created a virtual directory on my iis for this application, an error occurs when I try to access my database he says login fails for "NADA\ASPNET".
I don't know why, in the properties of the directory I checked "enable anonymous access"
I granted permissions to ASPNET user in the sql server but I still can't access it through this virtual directory...but when I access it with the default web server through the IDE, I can access it just fine.
What's wrong exactly?? I can't seem to find any reasonable explanation.
I'm really worried about deployment..because this application will be deployed on the iis of the server and there must be a virtual directory that has correct permissions..so what am I gonna do then!!

I have a variable in javascript and in the aspx file i have written the code like this
objhidquestions.value= objSelectedQuestion ;
var abc='<%=Utility.TripleDesEncrypt("' + objhidquestions.value + '")%>'
var url= "../popUp/ViewQuestion.aspx?id=" + abc ;
when i get the value of the query string of objhidquestions.value is not there instead in get the name of the object as "objhidquestions.value"

Well, of course. I recommend buying a book on ASP.NET, you plainly are very confused about how it works. Javascript runs on the browser, it is not C#, and does not run on the server. You've put + objhidquestions.value + in quotes, and therefore you will get these values verbatim. In fact, you are asking C# to evaluate the result of something that javascript has not yet been asked to create. The only way you could do this, if the value of objSelectedQuestion changes, is with AJAX.
