Hi All,
As I have to develop a testing application, my lead said me to use some thing he pronounced as "Team". Is there anything with this kind of name in .Net components. Please advice me I have to do research on it.

If you have that one, just try that ....

What does coding conventions and practices have to do with the .NET Framework? 
Before you worry about something as specific as that you might want to elevate your abilities in some other important areas such as this one.[^]

The basic idea of having conventions is to have uniformity among the code written by different developers in a Team. The ulitimate goal is to make code Readable.
Still, if you want to look for conventions...Google it.

Well...the ultimate goal is really to have the code look like it was written by one person in a single session. Unfortunately, that is a complete ideal and isn't 100% practical in the real world without resulting to dogmatic and dictatorial enforcement.

That being said, the goal of a coding style is to create code that is easily readable and maintainable by any developer by creating a consistent "look and feel" and structure.

I am having state management problem.Currently I am using
<sessionState mode="InProc" stateConnectionString="tcpip=127.0.0.1:42424" sqlConnectionString="data source=127.0.0.1;Trusted_Connection=yes" cookieless="false" timeout="20"/> in my web.config file and its working fine
As there are two other state management methods StateServer and SqlServer I am a bit confused which one to use.And if anyone can tell will there any problem if i use the current setting?What are the changes I have to make in my current settings to avoid any problem as once I opened my website and a link was shown to me "the object has been moved here".When I clicked that my home page loaded but i was unable to access my admin page by logging in and redirected back to the login page.In my code the username is stored in session variable and if it is not provided the user will be redirected to the login page and even after providing the username and password I was kept redirected to the login page.I thought it definitely is session's issue. When that home page loaded directly by typing the url after a while, there was no problem.Can anyone explain what is wrong?Thanks

hi guys
i have installed a DLL in GAC throug gacutil and the asembly is visible in the window\assembly
but i cant add reference of it into my project as in the referances ot does not appear .
where is the problem ?

A serializable class, simplistically, is one that can be saved in it's current state to a medium such as the hard drive or into memory. One reason to do this is to transmit the class via a remote interface, so the remote application get's a copy of the data at the point at which it was serialized. Another reason would be to save the data to disk.

As Pete explained, serialization transforms object(s) to/from raw data for the purpose of transmitting or persisting them.

Hello,
I want a custom class "MyException" inherited from Exception class which will be used exactly same as the Exception class i.e. "MyException" must handle all the exceptions thrown by the try block. like
public TestException
{
try
{
int i=0,j=0;
j=25/i;
}
catch(MyException ex)
{
MessageBox.Show(ex.Message);
}
}
The catch block must be respond the same way as if i use
catch(Exception ex) which can handle all the exception.

Nothing in your sample code throws a MyException object. Therefore you will never catch a MyException.
It would appear to me that you don't understand how exceptions work. What benefit to you anticipate your custom exception having over catching an Exception? If I knew that then maybe I could understand what you are actually trying to do, and then I could guide you better.

I think the contents of the try block was made up and had nothing to do with his problem.  It seems that he does have a try-block that calls into something which might throw MyException, and the problem he had was that when *another* exception occured it was not caught.
The correct pattern to use has already been provided; I'll just add that the rule is to catch the most specific exception first, then less specific ones.
try
{
...
}
catch (MyException mex)
{
... // runs if try-block throws MyException
}
catch (Exception ex)
{
}
Finally, I'll just mention that a finally block might come in handy in some of these cases, such as when "cleanup" of any kind is needed - eg. close a database connection.
