and I have a serious problem in my website...

I'm handling a login project, where let the user to login in pageA before entering pageB or pageC. When running at localhost, everything was fine.

Now the problem is when i put into the webserver. The session timeout within 30sec or less eventhough i had code :-

set Session(Login) = user in pageA
-
Session.Timeout = 60 (in pageB & pageC during
pageload!)

If Session(Login) = Nothing Then

respone.redirect(PageA) Else ...............

Although I set the session timeout in web.config as well,

it didn't work

in web.config:
I set the session state to be inProc (didn't work)
also i did:
<sessionState
mode="StateServer"
stateConnectionString="tcpip=65.182.97.156:42424"
cookieless="false"
timeout="20" />
and it didn't work...

Hi there,
Q-1) I have a login page.On that page there is a Forget Password link button.On click of that link button I am opening a window with the help of windows.open().The window is opening properly.But what I want to do is that I don't want to show the Buttons(Minimize,Maximize,close)present in title bar.Is it possible.If any body knows please help me.

Q-2)And my second question is weather it is possible to open a page in div tag using javascript.

Ans 1. You can not disable minimize and close button of Web App. If you use dialog window then maximize can be disabled.

Ans 2. Yes, you can open a page in DIV tag.

I need to develop DHTML Menu control for my aspx page which has built in security (horizontal layout)
Also the menu must span atleast 3-4 submenus and uses a xml as a datasource.

Please suggest a appropriate link for the detailed documentation of how to proceed as i have very less knowledge on web development.
Any sample code will be appreciated.

On my aspx page,I have applied a MasterPage which contains a user control with a link button inside it.
My aspx page has submit button and some validation controls. Somehow,I want it to fire validations only on the click event of submit button, but it is also checking the validations on the click of link button. How should I avoid this.
Kindly guide.

Turn off the CausesValidation[^] property value.

In the widget on master page(on click of link button),I am allowing the user to log in.
whereas in my aspx page I am allowing user to register(these input fields are having validations).
If the user is already registered then he can login through the widget which is on master page.
But when I try to log in ,it is showing me validation errors,since the input fields for registration on the same page are left blank.
I dont want it to check validation when I try to log in.

I downloaded VS 2008 Express edition and installed Silverlight Tools RTW Setup. Silverlight project templates came correctly but silverlight toolbox not came. How i get silverlight toolbox in my application.

I have a LinkButton in a DataList.

I also have a textbox in the same dataList.

The LinkButton is supposed to delete the message that a user posted. Meaning the logged in user posted a comment and he will be able to delete if he wants to his message. Only his messages all other messages will not have the Delete LinkButton.

How do I iterate through the DataList and only when it finds a LinkButton, detect if the username logged in posted messages that are stored in the database.

I use a Session for a username and Data Reader for database - dr[0]

Why iterate through the list? Use the CommandArgument property of the button to pass the id of message to your event handler.

Thanks for the response.
How would I pass the username of the person that posted a message through commantArgument and then compare that username with the session[username]. so that if the session[username] == to the username that posted, then delete button will be shown. the data including the username comes from a database which DataList retrieves iteratively.

If your application is properly architected then the user who posted the message will be linked to it through the id in your datasource. So if you pass the id of the message you lookup the name and compare it.
