I am from C# background. I would suggest use ArrayList and then it may have a sort() function to either do the ascending/descending.

Hi,
you could start with some collection (a Vector, an array, ...) initialized with all the symbols in sorted order; then remove each symbol one enters; when done, list what remains.

Have a look at the <code>java.util.SortedSet<E></code> class for unique items.
Or add the elements to an <code>java.util.ArrayList<E></code> and then pass that through <code>java.util.Collections.sort()</code>.

i'm using java awt in front end and microsoft visual foxpro 6.0 as the back end
the project is completely working but the problem is that anyone can click on the table and can edit the table contents what shall i do to stop the modification in the database??

Where are the 'backend' foxpro files? If they are on a physical server can you not restrict access?
The is a similiar problem to MsAccess, if the user can access the file and has the correct program installed then they can change the content.
A long term solution would be to migrate to a more secure data storage engine.

If you mean the files themselves then that isn't a java question. It is a database/security question.

What is your target device? With J2ME, there needs to be a target configuration. Conected device [CDC] is the common one for PDA/Smart Phones.
I would start by trying to create a simple HelloWorld and getting it to run. If you want to have downloads, etc, there are a lot of security issues and permissionings that need to be covered as well.
Now, what research have you done so far?

You should try google and then maybe ask questions here.
It appears to be something to do with apache[^], so I guess you'd use it when building intarweb thangs.

If u r using NetBeans, attach the Nffv.jar to the current package, then try to run "NffvApplication.java" in <sdk>\samples\Java\NffvJavaSample\src\NffvSample

You can create a thread(I mean Java thread) to execute the native function. As I know, there is no such a parameter or option to execute a native function call in a new thread defaultly.
