I'm calling webserivce using javascript.it's working fine.
here i'm populating the dropdown using the result of webservice.
and added a (Select from list) item to dropdown.In the dropdown onchange event i'm calling the webservice to fill the another dropdown,
here is the problem.when i'm selecting the (select from list) item.no need to call the webserivce and clear the second dropdown list.In this situation i'm planning to use same javascript method to clear the second dropdown.

If you searched this forum, this is asked all the time.
1 - this is NOT an ASP.NET question. ASP.NET CANNOT help you send an SMS
2 - if you use ASP.NET or not, SMS sending will happen via a webservice, for logical reasons
3 - finding one that works where you live is your problem. Don't forget to also make sure it works in the country your client lives in, as I assume they differ.
4 - if you use a free service, then you have no-one to blame but yourself when it disappears.

Start a new thread for a new question, but this question is very simple, and again tells me you need to read a BASIC book.
The only issue you have is that in HTML you use break tags, not newlines, for text that is multiline

Dear All,
Even after a button click, page_preinit event is handled before button_click event. I am handling an issue at page_preinit. Is there a way to to tell page_preinit event that it is fired by this button click.
I am asking this since One process at page pre_init should be realized when it is either !ispostback or this buttom is clicked.

To determine who caused postback, use Request.Form["__EVENTTARGET"]. It holds the UniqueID of the control that caused postback.
I've found and read so many articles on this, but none of them (that I read) mention that if the control is a button, its UseSubmitBehavior must be set to false.

I forgot to mention that it was ImageButton and not Button, I used coordiantes to solve it.
However the answer you gave was very tricky and thanks for that. As you said none of the articles mention that. So I gave the highest rating  .

I'm developing a Webform that displays a newsletter. At the bottom the newsletter, there is a comment textbox to allow the user to post a comment. I have a RequiredFieldValidator attached to the comment box to prevent empty comments from being posted.
All is working fine but I'm trying to add a "Sign Up" function so the user can register their e-mail address to receive the newsletter in their inbox.
The "Sign Up" functionality consists of:
* txtEmailAddress,
* RequiredFieldValidator for txtEmailAddress
* btnSignUp
Now when btnSignUp is clicked, the RequiredFieldValidator for txtComments will not allow the page to postback!
I know an easy solution would be to redirect the user to another page for registering and set btnSignUp property: CauseValidation to false. I guess I'm too bull headed but I want to give the user the quick access of signing up on the newsletter page! Is there any way besides a lot of javascript to accomplish this?

You need to create the ValidationGroup for it. RequiredFieldValidator for txtEmailAddress , txtEmailAddress and btnSignUp should be under same validation group.

I am doing forum project. I have a doubt, tat how to count the value. that is, all the data which displays in gridview. in tat i need to show the reply value [count the value from database].it means in database i hv field lke pid,pstreplyid,uid,tit,sub ...., in tat wen i create new msg it ll save in database giving pid automaticaly and in pstreplyid if its newmsg it creates 0 if its reply ten it takes pid value.
in gridview what i wud lke to display is, the reply value, if the pid(2) has 3 reply means, the field of reply shud show 3.
but i hv given query which displays only the new msg tat is pstreplyid=0.
i need to display new msg at the same time it should display the replyvalue also.
but i dnt knw how to count tat value so pls help me to do.
you just give me the suggestion to overcome the issue.

Try out ds.Tables[0].Rows.Count..(just check the syntax )

I think, you can get the count of rows which you are looking for.
ds.Tables[0].Rows.Count would give you the count of rows.
