Rather than disassembling existing executable code you should try this list:
1. read the documentation, especially the "programmers guide" for your BP meter;
2. study the source code of any PC application that the manufacturer may have provided;
3. check the manufacturer's web site;
4. contact the manufacturer if any of the above isn't available;
5. google your problem.

Disassembling the code in that .DLL is not going to help you at all. MSCDRUN is the runtime library for Microsoft's Connection Designer. It doesn't have anything in it that describes how the connection itself is made or how data is transferred.
Like Luc said, your best bet is to start with the manufacturer of the device and see if they have an SDK for it.

thanks for your attention. some of my collegues suggested me to make reverse engineering using dll files of the software but as you mention before I could analyze some of dll but they do not imply anything to me. I will follow your suggested way.

1) maybe you can P/Invoke the metodhs in the dll, use the Depedency walker to se what methods there is in the dll, use google to learn about those methods and implement them in your .net application.
2) Use a disassembly for unmanaged code, and recreate the logic in the resoulting asm code in .net
3) Use a c++ decompiler, and recreate the logic in .net, all c++ decompilers, but rememer they produces really bad output.

hi, i'm creating code only Custom Activity inside app_code folder in asp.net project, but i can not use my custom activity from the toolbox.
I tried separate my custom activity into new class library project and add reference it from the site and it works (available in the toolbox).
question is:
is there a way to use my custom activity from the toolbox without separating the project? (using .cs within site's app_code folder)

I don't think you can do that. Visual Studio requires that you register the component with it as a dll so that it can find it all the time.

Hello, This is Vikash Gohil
Here's my Query.
I have a Device which is a Linux based device. It works on Linux OS.
I can use telnet from windows on that device and LogIn into it.
I tell you the procedure.
1) I telnet the device using it's IP Address in Command Prompt(WinXP)
2) The Command Prompt then displays me some lines and Username: Prompt to enter Username
3) After Entering Username it asks for Password, After entering password I press enter.
4) On pressing enter, the system Logs me into the Linux OS on the Device.
5) Here I can run Linux Commands to do my operations.
6) I use VI editor to open, read/write certain files that are present on the Device.
7) And then on entering Quit, I am again returned to Command Prompt in Windows.
Now the query is Can I make my Own application in VB.net to perform the above tasks?
If Yes, then give me some ideas on that.
If No, then Is there any other way I can do this.

Simple, Just use loop (i.e. For loop) to increase size
exa:
For i As Integer = 0 To 200
control.Size = New Size(i, i)

Put a Timer on your popup form, set it's Interval to whatever you want. Handle its Tick event and change the Size propetry of the form in smallish increments. When it reaches your desired size, Stop the Timer.

Both code snippets are wrong. The first one you posted would take 3000 milliseconds (3 seconds) per iteration of that loop you put in, which you don't even need!. So, doing the math, that would be about 10 MINUTES to resize the window.
This second code snippet will never reach 200 because you keep re-declaring i, reverting back to 0 every time you enter this loop. It never really tracks what the current size of the window is and add to it.
First, change the Timer interval to something like 100 milliseconds, then, in your Timer tick, add about 40 to both the width and height of the control. That will resize the window in 5 steps in 500 milliseconds (half of a second).

Hi,
anyone can help for text file spliting ? issue is the text file is big in size and we need to remove first few lines for before we start spliting the file since it contains some header information such as date , time , file name etc say about 6-7 lines. so its creating problem otherwise all data with header line is in tab delimated format or any way we can skip those file using any script or remove them from the text file and create new text without header info.

1.) create a new textfile with System.IO.TextWriter stream.
2.) read your textfile with a System.IO.TextReader -> ReadLine() till you skipped your headerfile at i.e. line 6-7 in a loop while ((line = textReader.ReadLine()) != null) (count up to the line you want or check till your expected line reached...
3.) after you skipped the lines you want to, write all the following read lines to the textwriter stream -> textWriter.WriteLine(line)
4.) done reading the needed information close the textreader and textwriter -> .Close()...
5.) Finished

Thanks , but the thing is file size is around 30 GB , so reading is slow and i want to split the file over a line no how can it be possible.

What are you doing with the file? If you're loading data into SQL Server with bcp, it can skip lines "[-F firstrow]"

could you please provide step on how to load in sql using -F first row , i tried but since the first few rows are not as header i mean they don't have tab seperated values they are just simple text where as the other lines in text file is tab seperated.

As I recall, it just tells bcp to skip some number of rows. Read the documentation and try it.
