Hello guys,
I writing a data driven web application with .NET 3.5 using VB.NET Now I want to provide a quick option for users. I mean as soon as the user types in the search textbox, I want to filter records from my DB table where typed text LIKE or match the corresponding column in the table. Just as if one is performing search at Google.com but my own case is to get the filtered text from DB.
How do I go about this please?

How can I remove the Request.QueryString without doing a Response.Redirect()
User click's on a link like:
http://localhost/__login.aspx?run=st
Now when the page is returned to the user I only whant the paht
http://localhost/__login.aspx
to show.
How can I do this without using a Response.Redirect("http://localhost/__login.aspx")

You can transfer the variable by other ways
For example,you can use a linkbutton and transfer the value by session.

Hi friends..
I have gridview and i fill data in gridview using ObjectDataSource.
I set properties EnablePaging and PageSize for displaying page numbers..
Now what i want to add is "First" and "Last" link on paging..So user can go to either first or last page of gridview by clicking on it..
So how to achieve that?

You can give here number, text or Image.
Try to Explore Pager Settings [ FirstPageText, LastPageText, NextPageText, FirstPageImageUrl etc.. ] for GridView.

hello,
is there anyway to simalate the work of the file upload without displaying the input file upload, while we got access to the client file.
in other word can we http post the client file and catch it from the server using httpfilecollection class.

if you just want to hide the control and do the functionality then its possible. Hide the control using CSS/Javascript , then use a button or image when this object is clicked you have to fire the click event of file control which will bring the Select file dialog. its simply File control customization
if you wish to similate the file selection through code(without user interaction) then this will not be possible due to security reasons. Better approach will be going for ActiveX

but e.InputParameters returns only 17 parameters but it should return 20 parameters. The parameter Country(varchar) ,Deloitte_Client(bit), Viewable_By_Others(bit) left out by objectdatasource why it is so ?

On my website I have several images showing, depending on the page.
The images are not locally stored, the html img tags reference remote servers.
The problem is that they don't always show.
Ive tried putting a random "?rand=123" value in the URL to prevent caching - no success.
If I copy the image links to another browser tab they show up and then refreshing the first page, the images come up immediately.
can someone please help?

Browser supports loading images from third-party/remote servers. problem is little bit odd. If the urls are dynamically generated, then make sure there wont be any encoding problem.
use mozilla firebug plugin to examine the rendered html

My problem with adobe PDF is very simple, how can i open a pdf file in IExplorer as read only without any toolbar controls / buttons / adobe features / mouse right click to show context menus, print commands , copy, export, CTRL A / Ctrl C available to users.
i tried, html Context , trapping right clicks, window.open styles and nothing works once i opened the pdf using
Window.open ("mydoc.pdf",,style)
i tried even on iframe, but still same result.
am using VB.Net 2.0 / ASP
can any experts here help me with this?
