I prefer both Touchscreen and Physical Keyboard. I love K/B when need to type message as its too faster than poking the screen keyboard.

I am in complete agreement. I submitted an "Other" vote listing a touchscreen for menu navigation with a keyboard for data entry. I've long held a dislike for touchscreen phones because I vastly prefer using real keys to type on. Recently, my sister and mother got touchscreen Samsung phones with fold out keyboards that was very close to the kind of phone that I would want. Their phones' keyboard sucked though. Then my girlfriend got an LG enV Touch, which is a lot better than the Samsung phone, but still has an undesirable keyboard / operating system. I've become inseparable from my Blackberry and really wish that RIM would come out with a Blackberry similar to the enV Touch. The Storm's touchscreen with a flip-out keyboard that doesn't suck plus the Blackberry platform? That would be epic win for me.

I have used a couple of hand-held GPS devices so far. Its design on a 2-3 inch touchscreen is amazing. The UI is intuitive, clear, simple and reliable. I never needed an instruction manual from the day of purchase.
From my experience using call centres, voice/speech approach still has a long way to go, particularly in its reliability.

Anyone who has watched the Hulu advertisements knows what the smart phone is intended for. This becomes more and more apparent as I drive over the nations roadways. Fully half of the people driving around seem to be driving but instead of watching the road, they are watching their phones. I can only hope the aliens will harvest their brains soon and raise the safety factor while driving.

The Phone Doesn't Own Me
It never interrupts anything I'm doing - I keep it shut off almost all of the time.
So I never keep grabbing it and glancing down with a look of angst - in the hope that someone had the urge to call me.
When I take digital pictures, I use a camera.
At home, I alway upgrade to large monitors (as the need arises) . . . what the #&#&)@ hell would I want to squint at that tiny screen, or view one word at a time when it's magnified enough to be legible?
Fortunately, I've enough to think about that I needn't be sure I have a video game system wherever I go.
And I'd be profoundly embarrassed to walk around looking like Mr. Spock, with an point earpeace growing off the side of my head.

I want my phone to make and receive telephone calls. I really do not want a camera or to text someone, I do not want to surf the web. Trying to find a phone that just is a phone is very hard. I had to settle for a camera phone but had them block web/text.

I wonder if it is possible to get a phone without a camera these days. I think I have a video in there somewhere when I was trying to take a photo. Stupid idea really, almost as silly as watching TV/Video on a 2 inch screen, bloody idiots.

Yes, you can get phones without cameras, but usually you have to buy them online from the carrier through their business site, not consumer. Many businesses and federal offices prohibit phones with cameras.

Oh and that bloody ringing all the time. Don't you hate people with loud phones? 20 years ago it was so nice when we could step out just for a walk and not being interrupted 100 times by someone who wants something and wants it NOW.

Nope I do it every day, I make the decision not to be contactable for the bulk of the day and certainly when I go for a walk. As I sit here in the office I am looking at the landline cable dangling forlornly across the desk, someone found the number and kept ringing it!

With an elderly parent I keep my phone on at work. Being a small shop where I am the only DBA, I keep it on at home so work can get me.

Got a phone-only TracPhone for my 90 yo Father-In-Law. Except it had text messaging also. Nothing but Spam texts, but to delete them he had to bring them up, which means he got charged for them.
Git rid of the cr-apps!
