I agree, as I just posted to Dave above if it is say silver and above for all categories how do you get your editor category up to silver if you can't edit questions.
If you look at the organiser category it's "Organises and retags content" how does someone retag content if you can't edit?
It may be that only CG can edit questions now.

This was exactly what i was also saying. At times, we format the questions and make them readable in order to answer them. Now, we are unable to do that 
Might be, people having Authority of more than silver should also be given power to edit/improve the questions. What say?

I have never made a complaint about what has been posted, far from it I believe generally that all is fair game if you are prepared to back-up or argue a case, but this is reprehensible and needs actioning.
CSS made an unfounded and libellous accusation against CG, I found it offensive and beyond the pale.
In the Back Room CSS accuses CG of being a paedophile, this site, by publishing this, (albeit unknowingly as it was posted like any other post by a member), could be opening itself to legal proceedings.
I am not part of the CG fan club, I respect him, sure, and agree with many things, but we have differences of opinion on many matters, however to have this accusation made is appalling.
As for CSS, never has the description 'Member' been more apposite.
For the good of the site it should be pulled, and CSS should face some form of censure for this allegation.
That Christian has not made hay regarding this is a testament to his character, and one that I applaud, but had the accusation been made by me I would be suing him so fast his feet wouldn't touch!
I hope you will address this swiftly.------------------------------------

| If you read the Back Room regularly you'll see a lot of this sort of thing. CSS seems to do it every so often when his arguments are being knocked down by everyone, but he saves his greatest insults for Christian. Christian seems happy to live with this, and, as moderator of the Back Room, he has the power to remove any posts that he deems offensive. txtspeak is the realm of 9 year old children, not developers. There must be a good difference between weigthage of a Platinum Enquirer & Platinum Authority, right? Both are platinum status but roles are at extreme opposite ends. Is that considered?modified on Saturday, March 13, 2010 1:26 AM

| Weighting is based on the reputation type you are voting for. Eg. If you are voting for an article then the weighting depends on your Author status. The better an author you are, the more your vote counts. Same for forum messsages. cheers,

1. My point is, whats the significance of having a Platinum enquirer?
2. We have negative points enquirer too, so should we have a cap on that too, such that question quality increases. People get negative points, still they continue on an on... have a look at
this person[^]...
further he never closes a question if he got replied or not.

AFAIK enquirer status isn't used anywhere, except for showing it amongst all statuses.
This has been my major remark about the whole reputation thing: there is an extensive FAQ explaining what goes in, and nothing about what comes out, where and how it gets used. And now it shows that a couple of things are failing, as suddenly reputable people can't edit questions any more, etc.
