Actually, one of the colleagues has the ultimate desk top toy. He has a USB rocket launcher. It launches two tiny rockets, controlled by the PC. Unfortunately the website where you can buy them is no longer valid, or I would add it here.

... my desk is covered in what ever detritus has been left there over the past 3 years, this includes:
- a cafetiére
- three hats
- sticky tape [christmas design]
- 'antique look' pen holder [without pen]
- newspapers
- training manuals
+ Stuff [tm]

I let my cigarette lighter, cigarette packs (Marlboro short red)... perhaps a Zerg Hydralisk miniature  (hey, I can dream) or a Strogg Light Tank.
And is sooo goood.
Plus some scanned pictures of a Strogg berserker, some pictures of me cleaning the room after I spilled out a tiny glass of coffee (how much damage was done by such a small recipient...).
Now I see also a picture of a donkey playing guitar (probably the one from Shrek) and a troll handling a large club/morning star.

As the Subject suggests I work from home so I am continually adding new space, rearranging and such.
I'm a pack rat so I have to rearrange to adjust for the addition or removal of said stuff...

I spend 8 hours a day here so I have 7 plants, pictures of and by my kids, ventilator for summer, kettle and teapot, cups, beermats, a cuddly fox and a camouflaged rubber duck. I keep sandals here so I don't have to wear motorcycle boots all day.
The others either have nothing whatsoever or the same as me. One guy has 20 cuddly pigs. One room has a giant plant going round and round the walls. If the owner moves away he has to hand it over formally to the next tenant.

The tender sensitive ones die over Christmas, so in the office I have cacti and succulents and begonias, the ones that can go 2 weeks without being watered. I have some amaryllis too, they are 20 years old and still flower twice a year. We care for each other's plants when we are away, but some people give too much and some forget.
My window faces southeast, so I take them out of the window in summer, else they go all yellow.

Amaryllis! They are beautiful, my mother have some of those, its flower is so big. She always tells me to keep away from them.
And 20 years! WOW, I think you really should be careful of them.

- bumble-spud potato head
- My "going to a meeting to discuss what we met about at our last meeting" mug/pen holder
- Picture of the youngin'
- Picture of me and the wife
That be all... would you call that extension or minor personal touches?
