Also I would like to delete an answer I gave (as it was pointed out as wrong) and I cannot.
I also tried to add a comment and could not.

I imagine this is the alternate in question. I too cannot delete it.
I thought I'd try deleting my comment first (in case that was preventing your alternate from being deleted). However, I could not delete my alternate due to a formatting issue. Because the comment goes all the way to the right of the page, when my mouse gets near the delete image, it disappears.

Well since I can reply at least to you, thanks for pointing out the flaw in my logic in the tip/tricks. I did a quick test but did not pay too much attention as it ran. After your comment I tested on a known file  and went to delete my answer but could not.

I deleted it and it was fine for me so it could have been a permissions things. Please let me know if you see this again.

See this tip/trick. In IE8, I see the text (and the PRE background color) extending all the way to the right of the page. The text in the article is being mixed with the "Drill Down", "Announcements", "Tools" and other widgets to the right of the page.
The alternates are also extending all the way to the right of the page.

When I view the page in IE 7 it is all messed up. Everything is overlapping each other.

We have added this to the bug list and it will be investigated ASAP

A Web Service would be good. 
The hoops ain't that bad (programming is nothing more than a bunch of hoops you have to jump through), but I'm making A LOT of assumptions and not taking as many precautions as I should. If you're bored or just want some amusement, you should look through the ArticleManager object. I use a combination of brute-force string searches and XML-ish node examination.
You have bigger fish to fry than worrying about my stuff. I only whined a little, right?

Hey Chris,
Don't over-plan the web-service, if so it will never materialize. Start with something simple. And keep adding service functionality as and when you get time. With WP7 out now, there are so many CP-utilities that can be written for it. But it's pointless to even attempt that because the apps will break when the HTML is updated. It's kinda frustrating not being able to do that because there's no guaranteed web api.
