Increased short term Memory:Since the short term memory fades into the long term memory it's not clear whether his would make a noticable difference.
Faster processor speed:At least this would allow you to solve problems and be creative faster, although you might get frustrated waiting for your muscles to react!
Faster memory:Without the faster processor this is probably pointless.
More CPU cores / improve parallelism:You've probably already got several trillion processors and can multitask! What more do yoi need?
Faster acesss to long term storage:Same as faster memory.
Increased long term storage:I've never noticed a shortage! 
A more efficient OS:Seems quite efficient already!
A more feature-rich OS:I think telekinesis, telepathy and similar need additional hardware. The current OS probably does as much as it can with the existing peripherals!
A more reliable, robust and stable OS:Mine seems to recover quite well from hardware corruption!
A dual- or multi-boot system:Voluntarility become unconscious (asleep?) while someone else runs around with my body? No.
Other:Depends if you are limiting this the the brain or to the peripherals...

You mean multi-task consciously!
It does multi-tasking just fine on subconscious chores, beat the heart, regulate blood pressure, drive the car while you are talking to your friend while digesting the pizza and removing poisons from the alcohol you had last night, adjusting your pupil according to the sunlight that just came from behind the cloud, send extra blood to your respected member in anticipation of good luck with the sexy girl you just saw across the room.
The list is almost endless.

I think all the discussion here is about conscious mind , any way, to put my point clear we can sort the brain action in two Category :
active creative thinking (tell your friend a story)
passive interacting thinking (Switching speed while driving)
you can not do two Parallel actions in the same category like: telling a story(creation) and listen to another story in the same time(learning),note that you can not bound the action in a one category saying it's absolutely passive or active.
I mean by passive action the action that the brain accustomed to do it without notable thinking like typing in keyboard for trained person.
but you are right when regarding subconscious brain the autonomic nervous system can perform thousands tasks in the same time from regulating blood pressure to digesting your pizza.

I quite often carry on a conversation while answering emails or similar. When you add in the actions of typing and speaking plus all the 'subconscious' stuff that's going on, that's a pretting high level of multitasking or parallel processing.
Also many people hold conversations or listen to the radio while reading directions and driving.
But I have to agree that the's a limit of only 2 or 3 'active' tasks for the conscious mind.
I also have to agree that sometine the memory indexing is sluggish - e.g. remembering the name of someone you meet on the street 2 hours later!
But if I had to choose one item to change I still think it would have to be the faster processing speed as this would automatically improve the others.

AFAIK the brain is already a massively parallel processor, with dedicated circuits to vision recognition, audio recognition, social interactions and language processing - amongst many other tasks including motor-control.
Fact is, we already have orders of magnitude more parallelism than most, if not all, computers.
Guess that, once again, we have to blame the master programmer for this one.
PS. I went for a more feature-rich O/S. I want plenty of new, experimental and hopefully bug-ridden features to make for an interesting life.
