I'd also suggest we consider the auto-da-fé[^], as an ecologically greener solution, since economies of scale in gathering necessary faggots[1], come into play in burning en masse compared to one-to-one bon-fires.

Indeed, and I would have taken it as such. Have a read of Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman's wonderful Good Omens to find possibly the best use of this term.
