This is an amazing gadget. I started programming on Radio-86RK in machine code typing in the Monitor. Same here. Also, the issue of the magazine, which GMC-4 is bundled with, according to illustrations (unfortunately, I don’t read Japanese), is dedicated to the history of microprocessors starting from Intel 4004. Then there is a dozen of code examples and projects using GMC-4. Beautiful! DIY FTW!

Microsoft Office 13 was seen in an image of Windows RT pre-RTM build revealing the Office 13’s icons for Excel, Word, PowerPoint and OneNote. Interestingly, the Office apps are named as Word 15, Excel 15, PowerPoint 15 and OneNote 15 while we already know that it is code named as Office 13 by Microsoft. The image also reveals the build number of Windows RT Pre-RTM which is a bit older with compile date of June 11, 2012.

Office 15 is internal code name for the next version of Office. For instance, Office 2010 was internally called Office 14, and Office 2007 was Office 12 (yes, there is no Office 13  ). As for the final name for Office 15, it has not been published yet, but it is more likely to be Office 2013 than Office 13.

HELSINKI: A new operating system for mobile phones akin to the Mozilla Firefox internet browser has got the backing of several major telecom companies, turning up the heat on Google and Apple in the smartphone market.
Mozilla said on Monday that mobile network operators Deutsche Telekom, Sprint, Smart, Telecom Italia , Telenor and Etisalat are backing the Firefox platform.
The non-profit organisation which evolved from Netscape after the internet browser wars 14 years ago, said phone makers ZTE and TCL Communication Technology will roll out the first Firefox OS phones using Qualcomm's Snapdragon processors in early 2013.

Dell came to the conclusion that there isn't much money in moving boxes rather late in the game.
But consider the fact that Dell's business plan ensured that most of the inventory was paid for by the buyers.... you placed your order and paid and waited for delivery... that is why I say that the inventory -- as well as the labor charges -- was being paid for by buyers. And of course the component suppliers were paid 30 days later so Dell lived very well on the float!
Despite that, it managed to piss away its earnings on bloated corporate overhead.
Conclusion: Bloat destroys float!

I really think people are dancing on MS's grave prematurely. Ok, I predict Windows 8 will be an unmitigated disaster for desktop users (especially for business, where it will never gain traction), but they are still profitable. Very profitable, in fact.
They've done something seriously right with the Xbox 360 (once they stopped melting), and I boldly predict, based on almost nothing, that their new tablet will soundly beat Android Tablets, which have never been able to get their act together. MS was never in the position to do what Google did, or what Apple did, and I wish people would stop acting like they should be where those other companies are. Google exploded onto the scene at the right time, and Apple is just a freak of nature at this point.
