Sorry if it was not clear enough. This happens when I load the Q & A forum page with the question, and them try to type an answer using "Add your solution here". It's enough to navigate or just scroll to the answer text area to see it.
(Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, Mozilla SeaMonkey 2.12.1.)

The sticky instructions being permanently visible is an issue with IE8.

I'm also getting it with Chrome 21.0.1180.89 - it means you have to type in small amounts per line then delete the line breaks to make the text work as a solution (particularly if you rely on teh speel chekkar as much as I do).

Strange thing, SAK, I am never seeing this sticky, no matter what I do in the QA Forums: don't see it when I start typing a solution answer; don't see it when I add a comment.
I'm using Chrome Version 23.0.1271.1 dev-m

Well, it can be different on different systems. A particular browser layout engine with a particular screen size might make some difference. Anyway, as in same cases this sticky thing blocks the view of the text area, it should be fixed. Please see the reports of other members who could see the problem on their systems. Usually, this is not a big deal. I believe it will be done, as the site is being generally improved.

I imagine a lot of work went into the new layout and the overall look isn't too bad. I could get used to it.
I guess the thing that puts me off the most, besides the thinner looking fonts and too much white space, is mixing the Lounge and the Insider topics in th Our Community list. Is there a way to separate them or something, as they were before? Also the topics I've already viewed do not show up in a different color anymore, which is a P.I.T.A.
Overall, it seems like the new look puts less information on the screen than the previous design. And as a developer, I like to see lots of info, rather than to have to scroll around looking for it.

The issue I faced was we have the Lounge, the Insider news, Weird and Wonderful and a few others and there was no way to sensibly fit them all in. So, but piping in all the forums into the same summary it allows exposure to as many forums as we want. We also added a "Latest news" section to the homepage (under the latest articles) that's dedicated to the news in case you specifically wanted to follow what's been posted.
I also understand and sympathise with the feeling that there's less. There isn't really that much less overall, but it is more spaced. I personally like dense, complicated dashboards that show everything but this type of layout is completely off-putting to those who have never seen the site before or who are unfamiliar. The absolute #1 comment I got from everyone when they viewed the site was "wow - busy" with a despairing look

I would like to say you thank you for all these efforts.
Despite of some disagreements we have on some separate items (I will find time to report some problems when the application stabilized, don' worry  ), I really like the site's style and can say for sure that it demonstrates really good taste and mature usability thinking. I especially appreciate improvements in fonts and typography, layout as well as the number of other aspects.
I think I don't have to argue that the purely functional features and usability come first, and at least major annoyances should be fixed. I don't worry about that too much, because the history of previous problem resolution demonstrated to me that they were all reasonable to very good and complete in timely manner.
This is the main motivation of my reports. I really want to be collaborative and contribute to all those improvements, as that means really good productivity (which we already can enjoy in all aspects, overall), and really pleasing working environment for all my colleagues and myself.

Yeah, I understand there are always trade-offs. Such is life. I know from experience that trying to satisfy everyone is not only impossible, but frustrating as well.
If you could fix the link colors so that links that have been followed change color like has always been the HTML default behavior, that would be good. Is there a way to make the Our Community list scroll, so those of us who like to see more can scroll down?

With the left-hand menu (the forumlist) collapsing, I feel like the lesser-visited forums will get less attention. It's impossible to see if there are new "Free Tools" if you're in the C#-forum.
Can I has an "always expand" option if you don't want to change it back? That way I'll know where new posts are without having to click anywhere, and jump to the correct forum with a single click.
Having the menu collapse is not an improvement.

This is especially brutal when it is a long list that is open and when you click on some other list and the long list closes, the newly opened list now scrolls off your screen and you have to now scroll up to find the open list.

My suggestion is that they add a new menu header that never collapses (or maybe allow the user to toggle it, and make that setting persistent) and that contains all the forums with new content. Maybe put it at the bottom of the menu so if it gets too long the excess can be ignored without harming the primary menu items. The ability to pin forums so they appear near the top of that list would also be good (e.g., so I can easily see when the "C#" and "Weird and Wonderful" forums have a new message).

How about if the add the "pinning" of thread messages to headings? Then we could pin the ones we look at regularly?

How about showing the orange 'new post' dot next to the forum group header as well. That way one could see that there are new messages in at least one forum in that group, and can then click on the header to see what's new.

It used to be way easier to spot new categories with new entries.
If you can't settle on the expand all thingy Eddy proposed, why not have the categories that contain new entries appear in bold or some other indicating coloration or whatever.

At least here on this forum: if I expand the "Product Life-Cycle" heading in the left menu by clicking it: "Free Tools" shows up there: I think that's a strange category for "Free Tools" to be in !
