Asking this on Code Project results in this kind of discrepancies.
Conslusion 1:
Correct me if I'm wrong but CP is mainly MS oriented.
If we go to a more Linux oriented kind of site and do this question the results will be completely different.
Sure we have agnostic content here also but the results from this poll are far from being reliable.
Conslusion 2:
Javascript is an amazing case-study.
I think shortly everyone will use Javascript on their projects wither client or server side.
Even if it's not a "main language" is amazing.
Conclusion 3:
Where are HTML, XML and SQL?
Can't believe that any of those languages are more used than these 3.

Sorry, that is a logical fallacy, similar to saying "That dog is black, therefore all dogs are black". A single instance does not prove a conclusion.

- Nothing from Apple. I don't like to walk on a company's leash if I don't even work for them.
- Nothing from Microsoft. They try too hard to be like Apple recently and have changed their minds once too often for my taste. Perhaps I will actually get to use my code more than once when going on without their 'help'.

I'm a .net developer since... ever it appeared.
Recently I've been working on a project that involves WCF and JAVA MVC front-end.
So usually I have SQL Management Studio, Visual Studio and Eclipse open all time and keep switching between them.
For me JAVA is more of the same I had as a .net expert. No news, no "WOW I would like to have this on the .net side..."
I just feel JAVA namespaces a bit messy and the Date handling on JAVA is actually a big mess... apart from that all is good and calm

Colleague of mine who does both .NET and Java tends to use Scala as a "better Java" now. He likes the expressiveness and conciseness. Though, the tooling is not yet on par with that for Java.
For people coming to Java from C# 3 I can see why Scala (in non-functional mode) is more attractive than Java.
