Why is it rude? I saw a lighthearted jest there.

if you all say so, i regret saying he was rude.
Maybe i misunderstood the the word "b'stards"

MessageBox.Show("This is my signature: " + Environment.NewLine + signature);

else

MessageBox.Show("404-Signature not found");

In the context, it was meant to be a lighthearted play that we spam voted the message below out of existence. The phrase he should have used was, of course, "you elephanting sunshines".

Now i got it, thanks

It's good that you remind new comers of the CP protocol

No fewer than 6 reports, it's a shame how touchy people are around here.

Guess you should have used the joke icon...

Yes, Dale is about to get himself manually removed because some people don't understand humour...

I already figured that one out, hope he isn't as sticky as the last one.
What was about the other guy who seems to got his account removed?

That was the three spam posts below. One of them was a Nigeria style plead for "help".
the message was duly removed, and Dale made a joke about us being insensitive to the spammers "problems".

for the clarification.
I am still not sure whether Dale is really joking, maybe he just missed the joke icon.

Well, people being how people are, you can never be 100% sure, but I perceived it as being an irony type of joke...

Today my collegue told me that we will get the specification sheet of the Project im working on, since September, on January 24th.
Thats development ...

MessageBox.Show("This is my signature: " + Environment.NewLine + signature);

else
{
MessageBox.Show("404-Signature not found");

No, that's project planning.
Be prepared to do a lot of changes!

well planing is , as i thought the act of thinking and deciding the way it should be when its programmed?
i am ... but i am not happy with that, cause it already consists of more than 30 different classen and hundreds of lines of code
if(this.signature != "")
{
MessageBox.Show("This is my signature: " + Environment.NewLine + signature);
}
else
{
MessageBox.Show("404-Signature not found");

I'm working an the same project 15 years, and never get a single line of specification...
I'm not questioning your powers of observation; I'm merely remarking upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he is (V).

yes i do
Its required, because the Project im working on is for implementation of ASPICE,
therefore we "should" do it the way ASPICE is specifiying it
if(this.signature != "")
{
MessageBox.Show("This is my signature: " + Environment.NewLine + signature);
}
else

That's scope creep. You proably got new feature requests each week, of course without additional allocated time or budget.
The good thing about pessimism is, that you are always either right or pleasently surprised.

I don't know, it could be the complete and soul chilling silence that management's giving a few of my projects. That can add a whole lot of time.

Meh.
For QA, you book everything before you receive the spec as "exploratory spikes", and reduce the "spec based" dev time by the amount the spec comes later on the ground of "synergies with previous development".
For billing, you can also squeeze the pre-spec hours into the post-spec interval.
The you start to whip out some code the night before deadline anyway.

Stop your bitching, we are about to put an app into production and they have not finalised the policy the app is designed to support. Expect some changes indeed.

So, something seasonable. As you do this time of year, I'm sorting out the Christmas lights and I find a string of 100 LEDs with a broken transformer/controller. I wonder if I can rig a new controller with customisable flash patterns etc. using something like an Arduino or Raspberry Pi. The old set-up ran at 24V / 2500 mA, and a cursory glance shows the controllers might not be up to the job directly.
Yes, the cost of such a project will be far more than the cost of a new set of lights (11 NZD!), but what the heck.
Anyone have any experience with said kit? Or other suggestions?
Cheers

This might give you a few ideas: http://arduinodiy.wordpress.com/2012/05/02/using-mosfets-with-ttl-levels/[^]
Using MOSFETs means you provide a "normal" TTL signal, and the mosfet switches on/off the higher voltage/current circuit. They're pretty cheap (but it's gonna cost more than the lights did! ) - remember to look for 24V & 2.5A switching, and check the heat dissipation - it should be trivial, but you may need a chunk of ally as a heatsink.
