Guilty as charged. 
In 2007 we were in the Boston area and we stayed at a B&B in Salem. I'm not saying they have vampires there but down the road from the B&B was a dentist's practice and the name of the dentist (I kid not) was Dr. Fang.
If there is one thing more dangerous than getting between a bear and her cubs it's getting between my wife and her chocolate.

It always can be worse.
For example i have a really charming little kitty which decides that i have to get up each morning at 4 am and play with him because he is already full of energy and he wants to play.
If i don't he sits on me and he isn't so light anymore.

We have two such "alarm clocks". Ours jump on the bed about 5am demanding their treats. We keep a packet of Dreamies in the drawer and like Pavlov's dogs, they're conditioned to getting them at 10pm and then at 5am.

Cat? Usually it's RATS that chew cables, a classic sign. Make doubly sure you don't have any of those horrors about. I speak as a confirmed Catophile however.

One of our cats (we only have 2) chewed through 2 iron cords before we got smart and got one with a retractable cord. He also chews on the cord for the power strip to the computer but at least it's too thick for him to get all the way through.
Same cat poops in the bathroom sinks when he is ticked off about something, litter box not clean, can't get into my son's room at night to sleep, etc. If I could only redirect him to the toilet I wouldn't have a problem with the behavior.
