I'm glad you finished that as you did. I was beginning to make a metal note never to trust anything you said, ever, about programming.
RPG - a high-level language with all the idiosyncrasies of a very primitive assembler. Back in the day, I had to port from software from RPG to C, and it was painful just reading the dang thing.
I dread to think what it was like to actually write!

In all seriousness, it wasn't as bad as perhaps you think - once a level of familiarity is reached.
Of course, a 6 character naming limit can be a put off - but I think in the more recent versions that's been removed.
I actually learned it 'on the fly' after being employed as an RPG developer contractor with literally no RPG development experience (long story)
Once understood, and work-arounds and standards developed, I used it for 3 or 4 years quite happily.
I then moved to Delphi ...

Was digging around on my beaglebone black and learning about device trees and came across the BBB-BONE-BACON-00A0.dts and the inquisitive guy that I am I opened it and found that there was a bacon cape[^]. Well you can imagine my excitement so I googled and found the cape and dash it all it's not near what I expected.

Did you know that, when dealing with angles in software, it doesn't matter whether a system uses degrees or radians, so long as the angle is zero 
Spent ages last night trying to figure out why there was so much 'jerkiness' in my iPhone game - turns out one subsystem is using degrees, the other radians.
So when I tried to set something to 45 degrees in the radians system it didn't quite do what I was expecting!
I have started to rename all my variables with a Deg or Rad suffix just to be sure!

What is Objective C++'s support like for modern C++? It may well be OK, as its CLang-based:
If it's good, this can all be incorporated into a library, and made fully typesafe:
Speed sp1 = 100m / 9.8s;
Speed sp2 = 100m / 9.8s2;
Speed sp3 = 100m / 9.8s;
Acceleration acc = sp1 / 0.5s;

Similar principles should be usable between degrees and radians.

That's interesting - thanks for the link. It's OTT for this project - as its the code in two libraries that conflict - but it's an interesting thought.
Maybe the next project I'll revisit it!

Apparently, audio in Win7 has been 'greatly improved'. Its been improved so much, it doesn't work in any sensible fashion. To me, audio output from my machine should be a single, global thing I don't want to control volume levels for lots of different apps - I want a system volume! Anyway, that's just one problem...
I just got a new machine and I have three monitors. Left is on HDMI, centre is on DVI with audio to rear jack, right is on VGA with audio to front jack. I was hoping to be able to have sound from all three monitors simultaneously, but it doesn't seem possible. From the Realtek control panel I can listen to all six speakers fine, but I only seem to be able to get the HDMI and one of the other monitors playing simultaneously.
I had hoped to route stereo left to the left monitor and right to the right monitor, with the centre balanced. Is the best I can get left and right on and centre off?
EDIT: Actually, even with the HDMI playing simultaneously, there is a noticeable delay, so I'd also need to be able to control the audio output timing...bah! Might as well stick to one monitor!

And you're blaming Windows for that messed up setup?? Seems to me that would be the fault of Realtek for not supporting your completely screwed up audio requirements.

No it's Windows. It can't output the same audio stream to all audio outputs at the same time. Why ever not?
The Realtek panel proves I can get output to all six speakers, just not the same output at the same time.

Is it windows or the HDMI chip on the monitor?

That doesn't point to Windows to me. I've had too many problems with RealTek drivers to know better.
Download the latest driver from RealTek and see what happens. Don't use the ones that came with the motherboard.

I strongly suspect the issue is Realtek. Cheap sound devices frequently have cheap drivers, that don't fully support what you want to do.
Sounds like a hopelessly messed up setup anyway, what on earth is your use case?

did you try the advanced settings ?
Mine has a "device advanced setting" in the upper right hand corner of the realtech audio control.
I don't have a way to test it myself.
I just have speakers or headphones in a front jack.
