Indeed they are.

But now, that chapter is closing: soon we will see those that fought no more, for they are growing old. There will be no more mass remembrances. And who will then remember the struggle, and those who fought and died so that we didn't have to?
As Binyon said:

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.


And let us hope that the next generation does remember: or there is a very real chance that they will have to suffer the same fate.
