Yeah, the irony was not lost on me. However a link in an e-mail should still be a red flag. I did Google the url and it appeared to be some company in Thailand. I thought that was a little weird too...

The point isn't actually about who was at one particular battle.
"Sitting Bull et al" means Sitting Bull and other natives, which the Sioux still have an ancestral claim to be.

If I were a "colonial", the British would still be here running the show. But they're not. Because, well, guns.
If I were a "gun-nut", I'd have quite a few more guns than I do, and I would buy them at every opportunity. The next gun I'll get is the Winchester lever-action my dad has left me in his will - it was purchase the day I was born (58 years ago), and it's never been fired.
I hope I never have to fire it in anger, but I am willing and more than able if it comes to that.

Before my Dad died, he gave me his Win '94 .30-30. It was missing the hood over the front sight, which was lost while deer hunting on Big Bear mountain and rolling down a hillside, but I recently found a replacement at Numrich and repaired it. Beautiful condition, and a delightful gun to fire. They just don't make things like they did in 1948.

wiling and able are two separate things, they say that 70% of solders in combat never killed anyone, just because you can fire a gun doesn't mean that at the pinch you can shoot someone, in fact the more "civilised" you are the less likely you are to do it

But I *did* shoot someone when I was in the military. It was dark, raining, and the guy was 25 yards away - I put a .45 round through his femur.
