That's specifying the CLR version that's required, not the Framework version. .NET 4.0 and all 4.5 variants all use CLR version 4.0.
.NET 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5 all use CLR 2.0.

Probably because its so darn expensive almost no-one uses it.
I know they have versions available for free for a small number of dev's, but that would make it very expensive suddenly once your team expands beyond a certain threshold. And with very good free alternatives available...

Microsoft's Bing search engine has a long way to go to dethrone Google and while this will not happen overnight, by pushing out updates at a consistent rate, the company is finding new ways to compete with the juggernaut. To build on its feature set, Bing has been pushing out a plethora of updates over the past year for both consumers and developers. Need codez plz!

Is MySQL actually dieing? I wasn't able to find anything showing DB marketshare trends. I know a lot of people, myself included, expected Oracle to run it into the ground when the acquisition was announced. But other than a number of DB agnostic FOSS projects changing their default suggestion to Postgresql I haven't seen any indications of it slumping. From the other side, I know someone who is a MySQL DBA for a managed hosting company; he's told me that since the take over, Oracle's applied it's internal expertise to make MySQL much better at scaling across multiple cores. As of when we talked about it (2?? years ago), it would still eventually hit a scaling wall where more cores didn't help, but that limit was several times higher than before.

Programmers can spend a lot of time worrying about, thinking about, and optimizing the way that the code they’re writing looks. Whether it’s language designers obsessing about the way that you’ll find the length of string or language-users sweating about whether the function should be called findClassById() or get_class(), all thinking about naming is arguably a colossal waste of time.
