I only read through the BO in ASP.Net one but again, I don't see a problem with it. The solution points to 2 codeproject articles and then a google link.
The question was very vague so vague answers are sometimes the best that can be given.

I think he just found something "usefull" and he searched for diferent related questions. 3 or 4 of the answers were about TeamViewer and other two were similar to each other as well.
Don't think I am defending him, many answers did not apport anything new or even usefull, and some were just not solutions at all, barely comments.

Agree with you. There is nothing wrong with answering old questions. Accusation in "point harvesting" can lead us way too far. The arguments for reporting on a member account should be based on something bad in the posts themselves; it does not matter why they were posted, the motivation should not be a matter of discussion. As as some question remains accessible to some member and makes sense, answering it should be considered legitimate. Truth does not rust with time.
And if someone thinks that answering some questions is inappropriate (which can be the case, in particular, when a question is off-topic), that member should take measures to remove the question. If a question is legitimate and makes sense, answering it should be considered legitimate.

I guess that the point that raised the report was that some of those answers, were not solutions at all.
I personally reported at least 8 solutions as "not an answer", "offtopic" or "unclear / incomplete", but other answers were legitime and didn't take any action.
The suspicious fact was a block of 15+ answers within 1 hour for old questions (some were 2010 and even 2009), with doubtfull quality.
And this guy might have a group of legitime answers, many others just post some crap probably because they don't know that a new answer brings that thread to the light at the top of the list. In that cases, I agree with reporting it.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I think a good number of members should be knocked out of here for their "answers". I just say the reasons for that should be different. The problem is just the opposite: sometimes, community shows the tolerance to extreme abuse, the tolerance I cannot explain.
Just look at my recent report:

The check up of several posts in a row shows that he posts verbose copies of other answers, not only without crediting them, but without any thinking, by keywords.
I tried to report members posting something I called "fake answers", by one or another reason. The are really shameless people, but some accounts survive even now. I understand that care should be taken to avoid false accusation, but number of cases (including the one referenced above) are way to obvious…

That's why I like to post "gone" or similars here. So people who check the forum can know, which ones could be still active.
I remember that report. I gave my 5 cent, but if we don't get to the full dolar... then the machine won't react

User has over 200 answers posted. It doesn't seem to be SPAM or abuse. Perhaps adding a comment to their solution to give more detail would be more helpful.
