Writing articles get harder when you are not actually coding for work! Great motivation is needed with that little free time.
Jez, I need to pick up my pen and pad again (well, I think a keyboard, with CPU and monitor will do)  . Motivation needed

Finding the right motivation is definitely key.
If nothing else, how about you try contributing to an open source project? It'll give you the opportunity to try something new while at the same time contributing to something that others will benefit from.
