If you're doing it right, all virus infections take the same amount of time to remove.

0) Format HDD using a live CD/thumb drive.

1) Restore computer from pre-infection backup.

2) Beer | [beer] Beer | [beer] Beer | [beer] Beer | [beer] Beer | [beer] Beer | [beer]

The current generation of deep burowing viruses are virtually impossible to get all of the bits they've vomited across the system out without leaving it subtlety broken in ways that will end up biting you in the posterior at the worst possible future time. They're dug into the OS in a huge number of places; it's not like 15-20 years ago when if you could find a way to delete YorP0wnd.exe (sic) you were home free.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?
--Zachris Topelius

Training a telescope on one’s own belly button will only reveal lint. You like that? You go right on staring at it. I prefer looking at galaxies.
