I don't get this error, but when i'm trying to change it, nothing happens.

When trying to change password, the button "save settings" does not seem to work. In stead at the url addressbar is says: "Please enter URL".
Any ideas?

I posted a solution to Pointer to pointer to pointer and so on... in C[^], but it got lost.
I.e. after submitting, it was displayed on my browser, then refresh, and it's gone...
Is that somewhere in the "pipeline", i.e. can you restore that? Or is it definitively lost.

If you go to your rep history, is there a rep event linking to your answer? If yes, can you please provide that link? If there is one, there is a chance that also non-admins can restore it.

Oh, that's too bad. In case there was one, I could go to the revisions page of that answer. That page and all revisions are still kept, so that would be a way to recover it. If it's not there, an admin will have to take a look.

Once in a while, the CP behaves "strangely".
I'd say since a few month's it's less stable than before - especially the latency of seeing edits properly displayed has became worse.
E.g. edit a question (e.g. put a code block into pre-block) displays for several minutes (no name) as the person who looks that question for editing, etc.

Right now when looking at the "C/C++/MFC" forum then is a thingy hanging off the right side of my window that allows me to "Talk to an expert". It scrolls when I scroll so it always stays there.
Is that part of this site? Seems to disappear/appear on different forums and I remember being asked about such a feature some time ago.
At any rate I would really like it if that thingy (probably some UI term for it) wasn't there because it is certainly annoying. Or if I could turn it off.

I agree with Richard. I didn't write any article nor I plan to do in the near future since I have limited shareable knowledge, especially in the new fields of programming and Web programming. The only topics where I could help require a huge deal of work and cleaning from everything that can be protected by copyright from my company.
I'm just happy to contribute in the ways I'm able to, MVPs are for much more valuable members than me, the ones who put the "meat" in this site and make it useful to the developer community.

I have managed to open two accounts (two different email addresses). I want to keep the second one I opened, killing the first. Then I want to change the email address and user name (at least the displayed name) to what was on the old one.
1. How do I kill the old account?
2. How long before I can use the email and display name from the old account on the new one?

The dropdown menus are confusing for some of the tabs..
for instance; quick answers dropdown menu makes you think that you've already hovering over "Ask a Question" - I think it's because the tab background colours for hover are the same as this link background colour..
Not a big deal but thought I would post it in-case someone wanted some UX feedback

Following the spam hunts that are ongoing on the Spam and Abuse section I came to the conclusion that 10 reports are way too many to allow proper spammer deletion. It happens often in facts that spammer reported on the Spam and Abuse section remain even after days since the report, until the post is pushed down to the other pages to be forgotten forever - and the spammer accounts are still there.
My idea is to lower the reports needed with a reputation criterion. This ensures that one-shot accounts may be removed easily, while keeping safe from abuse active members of the community. The "right" number should be 3-5 reports, to allow fast deletion of the spammers.
These are my 2 cents.

We made it 10 reports because we'd prefer to err on the side of safety. Legitimate accounts were being nuked by malicious members.
The better option is to keep on reporting messages as spam. Our system learns in real time and can then nuke the spam as it happens automatically. It relies on you reporting the spam messages though.
