I normally manage to skirt "what happens if I do that" questions quite instinctively, by engaging in a "lets see what happens when I do this" narrative; a kind of internal commentary.

Normally followed by "oops..." in my case.
Remember one where there was a problem with "valve bounce" causing bad ink dots, and I had the brilliant idea of slamming the solenoid valve open, then reversing the voltage to "soft close" it. And blew the control ICs to shrapnel with the back EMF the first time I tried it... 
Still, of the hardware is still working, you're not on the "bleeding edge" of the technology!

As you may have already heard, Windows 10 Technical Preview, Build 10049 is out for Windows Insiders subscribed to the Fast Ring.
I've been battling this for a few hours and have a problem and a solution to share with you all:
There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help - (0x8024402f).
This, for me, was due to a timeout occurring while Windows Update tried to install a Realtek driver.
To fix this, we need to use Group Policy Edit. Follow the instructions below to solve this error (this solution may not apply to you, even if you receive the same error message):
Run GPEdit as Admin:
- Open Start, type gpedit.msc, right-click it and click Run as Administrator;
- Click the Computer Configuration node in the far-left pane;
- Expand the Administrative Templates node;
- Expand the System node;
- Click the Device Installation node;
- In the right pane, double-click the 'Configure device installation time-out' list item;
- In the Configure Device Installation Time-out dialog, click the 'Enabled' radio button, and enter a higher value, such as '2000' for the Device Installation Time-out field;
- Click Apply, then OK. Go back to Windows Update in the Settings app, click Retry.
