I want to take care of pet fish with minimum amount of efforts.
I cannot take care of daily changing of water etc.
So I want to have a setup which is independent of too much human interference

My point was that such a setup indeed does not exist. Look at the answers below, they will confirm that running an aquarium properly (and not a fish slaughtering machine) does require a lot of time and involvement.

In case any option about selling, throwing away, sending her somewhere, finding a boyfriend... is not working, then I think plastic fish are the best for you...

I have few plastic ducks and fish which I need to clean up after her bath time. So its not very hassle free too lol

As others have said, don't goldfish bowl. This might be useful[^]
When you set the tank up, let the water stand for a couple of days - or you'll need to use water conditioner (especially if your water is chlorinated/fluoridated).
I'd go for neon tetras or cardinal tetras - they are cheap, easy to keep and very colourful, they also shoal so you can get a few. You might get away with something like Canadian Pondweed or other plants in place of an electric pump - the shop should be able to guide you, whataver, you'll need something to replace the oxygen. You might also need to head the tank.

Also, avoid marine setups like the plague - they take insane amounts of care to keep the water balance right.

Most fish only live for a few hours so get cheap ones.
Home aquariums look wonderful when they work, in reality they are a massive pain to keep everything carefully balanced, keep changing the water, keep it all clean, don't overfeed, don't over populate, don't get fish that eat each other, don't let too much light in otherwise it'll soon be completely full of algae and you won't see through the glass.

Nope, just sh*t at keeping fish. If I had a special light for my tank that showed up fish ghosts it would be full.
I bought the water testing kits and everything, the buggers just refuse to stay alive.
Gave up in the end and got two turtles. They'll outlive me.

I couldn't have turtles. All the commotion as they're running around the house at an unchristly speed. Na, I prefer taking it easy and resting comfortable on the couch...

You're right of course - In Danish/Swedish, there is no distinction. Turtles and Tortoises have the same name (skildpadde in Danish, sköldpadda in Swedish). I didn't think of that... Sorry

I have never really had an aquarium, but I do know that the classic bowl is a very bad thing. The water gets stale, smelly and low on oxygen quickly and the fish can barely survive. A real aquarium should more resemble a small fuctional ecosystem, which of course is impossible unless the aquarium is at least the minimum size and the chosen ecosystem is sufficiently easy to keep alive.
The further away you are from the minimum size and the more exotic the ecosystem, the harder it becomes to keep the fish in the aquarium alive and the more time and work you will have to invest.

My father has had a (big) aquarium for as long as I can remember.
If there is anything I can tell you, this:

is nearly impossible.
However, if you get a decant oxygen thingy and don't overpopulate you can usually go for a couple months without having to do much.
Some tips tho:
- Don't let direct sunlight in (my father has a blanket of sorts handy for when the sun hits the water so he can cover it up)
- Don't overfeed them (very important) for fish it's better to "forget" to feed them for a day than to feed them twice.
- Get the window cleaning fish one (otherwise you have to clean the window yourself  )
- Don't do a sea aquarium (those require a lot off time)
- Have the shop test your water first (the water you'll be using, city water or rain water), if you have the wrong water (I know sounds weird) you can have a lot off trouble (dirty water, dead fish, ...)
Other than that: success and be glad she didn't ask for a pony (yet)

We have a 30 gallon aquarium on a stand; until recently, it had two fish: a goldfish and a plecostimus (algae eater). They died after about 6 years. The goldfish will grow to the size of the tank.
Yes, the tank is big, but that is what we opted for. You could easily have a 5 gallon or so.
But, goldfish; easy to take care of, simple to feed... and cheap.
Our goldfish started as a 6 cent feeder fish... yes, 6 cents... he just kept growing.

Best you ask in a pet store for some beginners stuff. It isnt so easy and if it goes wrong the fishes are dead. 
So start smoothly.

- Fresh water are easier to care for than salt water and the setup costs less.
- Betas (Japanese Fighting Fish) are actually pretty easy to care for and the setup isn't that expensive. They only need a small tank, too much space and they will die. You can only have one in a tank or they will kill each other. Plus the are gorgeous.
- Goldfish, especially the feeder fish variety, might not have a great survival rate but they are easy to find another similar enough looking one that you can buy another if it does die with minimal risk of being noticed.
- Agressive vs non-agressive. Don't mix them... every.
- If you plan on a tank with multiple fish, get some cleaning fish like plecostomus or loaches. http://bottomfeederfish.com/[^]
- Snails. Some people like them, I hated them since once you get one you will never get rid of them and they will eventually invest the tank.
- Make sure to learn how not to shock the fish when you put them in the tank and when you clean the tank.
- Have a smaller tank available for doing cleanings. You will need to clean the tank. Koi and Goldfish are extremely dirty and release a lot of ammonia.
- Make sure you know how big the fish can eventually grow.
Start with inexpensive fish, hearty, easy to care for fish. This can become an expensive pet in a hurry and they can be extremely easy to kill.
