Legend has it that Plenty of Fish (no linkie, I'm sure you can find it if you don't already have an account) was started by the developer as an exercise in learning ASP.NET. He (pretty much personally) grew that into a very highly scaled and profitable business[^] over the last twelve years (USD6,000,000/year in Google ads). Now he's selling it to Match[^] (.com) for USD575Million. 
Maybe Chris needs to set up dates for the hamsters (or sheep?) or something.

Selling something for a specific value does not equal to holding that amount in cash.
And yes, sounds like a lot, but prices are rather distorted. I'd also be pointing out that the architecture allows for scalability - which is worth a lot, but that does not make the complete company scalable.

"in cash" means that the prize will not be payed in goods, like options...but cash does not mean that the buyer will show with a shoe-box filled with bank notes - it will be done on the wire...

As there is "nothing new under the sun," perhaps this is not really new, after all, but it struck me that programming is a lot like choreography, as coders must previsualize and plan the precise movements of multiple "dancers" so that they cooperate in space and time and, especially, do not collide with one another.
A case (or at least a six-pack) in point is the choreography that must take place between the server-side code (such as C#) and the client-side code (such as jQuery) in an ASP.NET or Sharepoint (or other type?) of app.
Unfortunately, while aspiring to a Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers-type of partnership, I often end up with what looks and sounds more like a mosh pit populated by drug-addled psychos.
