Well...the trailer is funnier than the whole original film...but I do hope that isn't all the good bits!
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

Worthy of note is that there is not a single man talking in the whole trailer and the only near close up of a man is as eye-candy.
This will definitely be the first of a new genre of chic-action.

AFAIK, most of the male cast of the original movie is doing cameos. I hope it's true. It wouldn't be Ghostbusters without at least a glimpse of Bill Murray...

Y'know this might've worked for me if it were not for the bad choice of casting Melissa McCarthy and for writing Leslie Jones as some horrendous caricature. While the first ghostbusters was funny, it doesn't feel like the same style of humour here.
Also not a fan of reboots. Could be just from the recent glut of them but they annoy me at this point.

Finvarra - The Battle of Evermore[^]
Saw this band perform live at Keltfest last year.
Folk bands are often a lot of fun when seen live (in the grass, in the sun, people laughing and dancing), but a big disappointment when listening to recordings (where there's none of that atmosphere)...
This band seems to be one of the few who doesn't sound cheap and tacky on a recording though.
This Led Zep cover is my song of the week (followed closely by their Jethro Tull cover Kelpie[^])

Better than the original!
I really don't like the original... Or ballads in general

Hmm. Not exactly genre busting reinterpretation, is it? Both songs already have folk roots. If you're gonna do a cover give me something I can't hear in the original. An exact copy on slightly different instruments ... meh! Underwhelmed.

Kelpie just got a little more modern or something, both songs are nice.
9082365 wrote: Both songs already have folk roots I guess that's why this folk band chose to play them!
So if I understand correctly you're underwhelmed because a folk band plays folk songs that sound folky...

You may very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.
Oh, alright! I just think there are bands who do both playing folk songs that sound folky and playing not folk songs so that they sound folky a whole lot better and a good deal more distinctively than this. Not many, unfortunately (and nobody will ever replace Steeleye Span) but enough for me to be underwhelmed with this one. A cover of something completely out of the folk wheelhouse given a complete makeover might win me over but ....
Edit: Just to show what's possible Robert Plant doing Black Dog bluegrass[^]!
