What a bullshit! Scientist struggle hard when they try to sequence ancient DNA: it is fragmented into many small pieces. Instead of 23 chunks of DNA with an average length of some 100 million bp for the human genome, you'll have to cope with tens of millions of fragments of 50 bp...
That's long-term storage technology, yeah.
