Joined today, and I suspect it's ORT reborn. But the link in moderation is irrelevant to IT - it's a christian loony site again - so I'm going for spammer this time.

Now I'll never get the new Justin Bieber album.

I'm sure someone will buy it for you for Christmas.
If they hate you enough, anyway!

Since the user was already gone and the article got approved (mine was #1), I have deleted it

Was that the only "abusive" comment they did? If so, it is inappropriate to post this message in this forum. The message itself has a flag to mark it as abusive which is what should have happened.

Why is it inappropriate? This is the "Spam and Abuse" forum.

From the sticky post above, emphasis added on my part:Quote: The spam and abuse forum is a place to report content that may have slipped past other members. To have content removed, multiple members need to report a piece of content (or a member's account) and so if you find something abusive, or that is spam, hidden in a seldom visited corner of the site you can report it here so others can review and report (and hence close) if necessary.
As pointed out earlier, the message itself has a flag on it to mark as abusive.
My real problem is that, in my opinion, that was hardly an abusive comment. If you look at it from their point of view, they came here to get help and you told them to go somewhere else. Granted, I agree with your comment and would have told them the same thing. But OP replying "no thanks for that "smart-ass" noise" hardly seems worth banning the user from the site. Surely we can be more thick-skinned than that.
If you had just posted a link to the message and claimed abuse and not a link to their profile I would not have had any problem with it. There is a sense in this forum that no rude remarks are allowed yet we have several members who abuse others in the Lounge all the time that no one cares about. I am not pointing fingers at you, just stating that it is common for the standard to be much higher for newbies than for those who have been around for a while. I wish we were much more forgiving and not so quick to ban people. This is an open site, not a club.

As to being thick-skinned, I could not care less what people call or say about me, I merely report the fact that the messager is being abusive.

I posted a link to both, so everyone could see and make up their own minds. And it would appear that 9 other members agreed and voted him/her off. If you feel that was wrong you can appeal to Chris.
