I've always been extremely careful not to become the butt of jokes while communicating with my team. And I would really watch out for the words that could potentially toss the meaning/context out for a joke.
We've been dealing with a feature that has this word "Shift". Like "Shift-Resource".
One poor freaking day, Today. It's already 30 mins that I sent the message & it's guaranteed everyone read it to the final ".".
Now I'm scrolling back in Slack & finding it read "SH*T-Resource".
"I'll take care of this Sh*t Resource" 
I could hear that freaking giggles all over. Just edited & corrected the typo, but no use in defusing a bomb that's already blown off you see. lol

I mostly end up typing retards instead of regards. But that is in emails so I can correct it. I don't think I have sent any mail with that typo yet.

Years ago we had a secretary who typed up the emergency instructions as "In the case of fire, do not leave the lift" - so it's not just us...

A colleague of mine made one that wasn't a typo, but caused by language problems. Norwegian and Swedish are so close that they might be compared to dialects in other languages, so we never 'translate', but undertand the other directly. There are some orthographic differences, such as Norwegian spelling 'economical' with a slashed o, 'økonomisk', while the Swedes us an (unslashed) o: 'ekonomisk'.
In the days of 7-bit ASCII only email, there was not room for the 'ø', and rewriting it as 'oe' in emails. We did a development project with a Swedish company, and my colleague wrote an evaluation of three different alternatives, concluding that one of the alternatives were clearly the most economical, 'økonomisk', 'oekonomisk'. Now the problem is that in Swedish, 'o-' as a prefix is like 'un-' in English, and the Swedes objected strongly to the identified alternative being the most un-economical...

I have got into similar situations in my early days. At one time a half cooked email sent to the customer because of that CTRL+S key. Later i added safety checks in outlook and for most important emails i simply CTRL+X the whole To field and paste over notepad to avoid embarrassing situations.
In one incident still remember how i desperately wanted to stop sending email by turning off network

Been there. I've violently pulled that yellow LAN cable off my notebook once almost damaging its "click-lock" ability.

That's quite a common one for me too.. not sure why (perhaps the position of 'l' on the keyboard means I don't hit it hard enough).
Have to watch out for 'Count' (e.g. 'LineCount') too before checking in code.. that's caused to occasional raised eyebrows 
Now is it bad enough that you let somebody else kick your butts without you trying to do it to each other? Now if we're all talking about the same man, and I think we are... it appears he's got a rather growing collection of our bikes.

I am maintaining an internal tool that does not go out to customers, but is used by 150-200 program developers, all installing it on their desktop PCs, all accepting the license. It took more than a year before one guy pointed out they typo in the "Common Public License", even though it a boldfaced header that requires no scrolling.
Over the next two years, two other persons have noticed it - and they have even read beyond the text in the opening window ("... If you received an earlier version of the software that contains bugs that you have made friends with and would like to keep, you are hereby entitled not to install the new version, and ignore the conditions specified by this License. ...), and noticed the discussion about source and destination code rights, the granting of a royalty-free and presidency-free right to reproduce the program, while the program retains the right to transfer any information on the user's PC to the NSA, and requires that if the program is uninstalled, the hard disk of the machine shall be deep formatted at least thrice, and then demolished by a slegehammer flattening it to a maximum thickness of 2 mm ...
More than 150 program developers have agreed to these condition, including those also working with intellectual property rights and other legal matters.

Blame it on auto correct.
I commented on someone's post yesterday (not here), regarding how auto correct fixed her post by choosing a different word that was equally appropriate, if differing in meaning.
Unfortunately, my remark itself was auto corrected to "appreciation in chierce" from "appropriate in choice".
