I'd noticed for a while that I was still seeing yesterdays comments marked as new when logging in each morning, today I pounded the next page button in the Insider forum until early august; everything was still marked as new.

hmmm. Wonder why it's getting nuked and my login cookie isn't; you'd think they'd be managed together.
Checking my content blockers, the only ones firing on CP are ||developermedia.com/a.min.js from ABPs easy list, and assorted Google domains being either blocked or denied cookie rights for ignoring my DNT track by Privacy Badger. I'm guessing it's devmedia, but I thought that was just advertising.

As far as I can remember it only happens to me if I clear my browser cache or logout of CodeProject (something I never do these days).

Good grief, stop being such a child. So you posted a single sentence question that could have had multiple meanings and you were challenged to make your actual question clearer. The fact that you were told it was unclear meant you should have paused for a second and thought about whether or not your question did provide the information you needed. As it is, you've been given AN answer and, no disrespect to Griff here, no one else can judge whether or not it's the correct answer because we still don't know what you were asking - all we do know is that Griff gave you an answer to the question he has assumed you asked.
So, now you come here to post that you have been offended and are going to close your account. If you were really serious, you'd just have closed your account; instead, you have come here seeking attention and for people to tell you not to go because we'll miss you. It takes a lot to get me riled, but the level of petulance and immaturity you have shown has prompted me to call you on your attention seeking. If you're really serious about leaving, just go. If, however, you're prepared to grow just a little, stay; ask better questions and enjoy the fact you'll get better answers.

If you are self employed it's alright I guess. But if you are full time, you've got to think about possible repercussions if your manager or other coworkers see your posts online. Same when you are looking for a job. Is this the sort of mental image a possible new job interviewer should be having about your personality?
Disclaimer : Guys like @Pete-OHanlon and @OriginalGriff can act anyway they want here though, since everyone knows they are highly skilled - so their craziness is not a factor.
