It's Dell (just like my laptop), but it works with USB, so I guess it would work with other brands too (I've had vendor and even laptop specific docking stations at work).
As long as you don't buy yhe Thundetbolt Fock ftom Dell.
Where I'm contracting now they have been battling Dell for a coupke of months to get them to admit that this dock just doesn't work.
They've lied about getting it to do what we say it can't and just today had it picked up without admitting fault.

+1 for the Plugable - that's the same one I'm using, and the fact that it's not for a specific laptop means you can use it with just about anything. It's also a lot cheaper than the Dell Sander links to in his post.

Just in case you've still not done it...
My experience with a Lenovo usb 3.0 based "docking station" was terrible.
I had two monitors, a mouse and a keyboard plugged there, nothing else.
I was using wifi to connect to the network and internet.
I can tell you that windows moved jumping and slowly while dragged with the mouse... I learned afterwards that it had something to do with the amount of compression that happened with all the data through the USB cable. This was killing me till I ditched that "dock station" and bought one pure dock station (the one that connects through the port that is under your laptop).
Now I'm a happy camper, this works very well, no issues at all and it doesn't occupies any space.
At least the Lenovo docking stations are compatible with multiple models and iterations of the models so you should be able to use that for the next laptop you could buy if it is the same brand...
Be careful with that and try to test it before buying it.
PS: another stupid detail that at the end of the day matters... usb dock stations don't power your laptop so you end up plugging the USB cable and the power cable.

LG is a good choice, I bought a small Full-HD LG TV which I can connect to my laptop via the HDMI port, for such a small TV it has excellent sound too.
At work I have two Dell Ultrasharp monitors which are very good, but have no speakers and only HDMI and mini-displayport connections, this model however also has an USB port:

I use a device similar to what Mark posted about. In fact, I think it is the same thing except relabled. That is, one of the two is. I use one from StarTech and it works really well. It has several USB ports, two video outputs, and a LAN port. We have a few of them around the office and I highly recommend it.
As for the monitor(s), I think 1080 lines is too low resolution for my tastes. I like displays of at least 1200 lines and more is better. There are lots of monitors with 1440 lines now. I would get two that are 1920x1200 or 2560x1440 if I were you. For me, more pixels are usually always better unless they are too dang small to see. That's why I would not go for a 4K monitor unless it's rather big.

In my opinion 1920 x 1080 is just too small. You don't realize that until you use a larger resolution for a few days, then you'll never go back.

Hi All,
Using my work PC which got upgraded to Win 10... the fire wall is hiding behind a to quote the IT dept 'dirty great hardware firewall' and also the use of local fire walls gets in the way of some of the work I do. So the policy was to turn them off. Fine but Windoze wants it on...

Didnt know hardware could work at the port level of a TCP packet.
Anyway, you can disable the firewall on windows 10 but you might need to go into gpedit.

I though so as well, but 'they' are IT. I will have a quiet poke around gpedit this afternoon, it didn't seem right to me.

Sounds like a router that runs SW that looks at ports.
Gpedit is immense, lots to play with.
