So my newest blog post was just imported and I saw this big GitHub logo in the editor.
Seems you guys added support to GitHub Gists for blogs as well and it works well and looks awesome!
One thing though, it's really small, but at the top of the post it showed the text: "Get started with Azure Functions and serverless computing in Azure. We'll see what serverless computing is and how it's implemented in Functions.. The post Azure Functions and Serverless Computing appeared first on Sander Rossel.."
The first snippet comes from my blog and CP adds the second bit.
They're separated by double dots instead of a single dot and it ends with double dots as well.
If you fix this and the tags and sections get fixed I'll never have to worry about my imported blogs again

First of all... thanks, it is now working.
Pity is... it seems it is not working as it should (or at least as I consider it should to be really useful)
- 1) If a platinum author publishes without moderation it is said: Published by Editor or trusted author. OK
- 2) If a non-platinum writer publishes through moderation it is said: Published by [nicks 1 to 5]. OK
- 3) If a non-platinum writer gets edited by the CP-Staff, it is said: Published by editor or trusted author. OK, but in my opinion not useful.
- 4) This blog example[^] is published, there is no versions history and the author is by far under the limit to avoid moderation by himself (1,3k total). It is said: Approved by editor or trusted author. Maybe a problem with the type blog?
- 5) This article A Working TCP Client and Server With SSL[^] is from an author without enough reputation to avoid moderation (9k total) has 25 versions (CP-Staff editions were 23, 15, 11, 8 and 6) but it is said: approved by editor or trusted writer. So it seems that the highest status received in the past remains active for the rest.
In an example of #2 I saw high rep members as approvers, which means for me that the "approved author" only refers to the one publishing and not to the one voting.
The biggest problem and reason for this suggestion is and has always been to try to stop systematical approvers that click on OK for articles that are spam, very low quality, have serious format problems and similar things. Which means, if we can't really see who is approving every version, then it brings no additional value.
CP-Editors are hard workers (thank you and kudos for it), but if they do an edition with the best intentions, then we can't use the information anymore, because the articles get approved by "editor" and the status remain for future updates as in #5
I think that the best would be to save the "published by" within the versions history (if possible) and...
- if CP-Staff edits an article in moderation and is published for the 1st time, then "approved by editor or trusted author" as now,
but
- if the article was already published then keep the last "approved by" list (as a kind of "ghost" editor)... that would do the job.

Sorry, I bring a new point to dig about.
This item[^] was in moderation as an article, and it got approved after edition by the staff, then auto approved and it says "approved by editor or trusted writer" as I listed above. So far so good, but...
I have taken a look in the revisions list:
I am in the list of approvers, but I don't think I approved it. I did use the red flag though, to say "wrong type (tip, blog, article)" as I have done again.
@AkhilMittal, @ppolymorphe, @BryianTan, @User-59241 did you approve it? Or did you report it as well? (If report... which option? just in case it is useful for Chris' digging)

Hello CP,
I am an avid member and love to help the community. I loved Code Project. But recently I found something that hurt me badly and left me shocked.
I have been answering the community people. But I found that someone has downvoted all my articles and answers posted within an hour. So it looks like this not genuine downvoting.
This should be taken care to maintain the standard. Please correct me I am wrong.

I cannot see any downvotes on your articles, but the two answers that got downvoted look more like comments. Perhaps you have made a comment that someone took offence to.
But in the grand scheme of things, votes will not buy you a new car, so just accept it as part of life in a public forum.

I understand but then why we have this point system even? This way I may target one particular member and downvote everything. So this is not an explanation.
Moreover, Even in the democracy voting won't buy you anything but still, it should be fair for the system to work properly.

(Although, to be honest, I think the "we do not do your homework" answers should be comments as well, combined with reporting the question as "not a question". But that's a different discussion.)

A code dump with no explanation. In order to see the proposed solution, you have to scroll to the bottom of the code block. It also appears to be a C# solution, when the question was about Javascript.
