The Dutch government decides to do something about it to strengthen the relations between the two countries.
So the Dutch build a bridge in the middle of the desert.
The bridge does absolutely nothing and the whole world forgets how dumb Belgians are and laugh their ass off at the stupid Dutch.
After a few months the joke passed and the Belgians tell the Dutch it's been fun, but the bridge can be removed.

OK, two samples in the article. One a rewrite of Python and one of Java. Yeah, I could see getting better performance out of loads of choices in languages, but Go-od for Go.

Let me fix that for you : they will attempt to automatically "upgrade" you. This update has been attempted three times on my laptop and failed every time. This thing has the Synaptics touch pad and its driver is quite problematic. It is the most difficult driver to uninstall I have ever run across.

At least your laptop failed cleanly.
My personal desktop 'succeeded' for versions of sucess that equate to a working login but everything after that being hosed requiring a rollback a month ago. 
I suspect the root cause is an install dating back to W7 on a different set of hardware.
I'm currently debating between trying again with 1903 this weekend, or trying either 1809 or 1909 instead...
