Bash MS all you like, but their development tooling is much easier easier to use than most.

After 20+ years using Windows + MS Visual Studio, I did a project with Linux + JetBrains Rider. Have to say that I was pleasantly surprised, after going up the initial learning curve, that it is a viable alternative. Tried to use MS Visual Studio Code but that is a toy in comparison to Rider.
