Tech Advice (non-code issue) payment to cards

Hi,

Sorry for the non-tech question, but I've hit a dead end:

Is anyone aware of any 3rd party who facilitate making payments to bank cards?

I.E. customer pays for a service by card. We keep card face details (PCI DSS Compliance notwithstanding) . Customer is dis-satisfied so should be compensated. The compensation amount does not relate to the cost of the service (will usually be more).

We can make payments if we have the customers bank details and are already offering vouchers of equal value. We may also be forced to offer cheques.

Any advice would be helpful

Solution 1

I've never had to do it, but I'd suggest you start by talking to your card transaction service company - they must have done it many times before in the form of refunds, so I suspect it's just a transaction with a negative value.

And since you will need the transaction service company to facilitate the transaction anyway...they should be able to tell you one way or the other.

A good point other than:
1: My client is the "insurer" that pays their clients customers their compensation, so We aren't the ones taking the payments in the first place and...
2: I tried explaining this to the recommended "merchant services" company but the guy just didn't get what I was asking

It's a really weird model, really. My client get money from a broker and pays out to individuals. Most companies take money from individuals and may the broker ^_^

On the front of it, I do agree with the solution. If the company I went to didn't "get it", I'll have to find one that does.
