Looking for a tool that will allow me to detect and block a user from the network if he/she reaches a certain amount of files open/read. Thanks in advance!

You could always reduce the amount of memory they have in their computer. ;)

But serious, I've never even heard of a program that does that. Good luck.

Thanks for the feedback Ryan, I could only come up with disk quotas trigging a script that disables eth0. But it doesn't fit the needs. Ideally we can recognize and manage which user bumped the limit, and block them individually. Probably has to bee third party
