How to send SMS using JAVA ?

Hello.
I have not used any sms api or sms gateway till now. I am working on my final year project where i need to send sms from my java application. I have downloaded smslib api and have also bought a D-Link DWM-156 HSUPA USB adapter. But i am completely clueless about using that api and adapter. Please help me out in solving this problem.

surely the smslib api comes with at least one example ? (that and as Richard says, paraphrased here 'RTFM')
