open XML file with my project

1. In a page of .net Project I m creating a logic through controls. I save all information in XML file. I want that when I click on that XML file it automatically open with my project so after taking variable and controls value from that XML file I can re-design that Logic.

2. Is that possible to give custom extension like .ckt or something else which is not used before at the place of .XML

Solution 1

1. The CodeProject article, "File Association in VB.NET[^]", tells you what you need to do to associate a file with your program.

2. Yes, the file name and extension is relivent to the content of the file.
