How to user MS SQL built in functions (replace /substring) in the fulltext index?
I have implemented fulltext index on a column i.e. textdescription, but on this column I need to remove some text with in the [...] and apply search (near concept).

for example:text:= "Clothing, namely, underwear, sports bras, bath robes, shorts, tops, nightwear, bodysuits, bodices, socks, tights, pantyhose, sun protection suits, namely, bathing suits, swimwear, cardigans, sweatshirts, vests, skirts, dresses, gowns, pants, jumpsuits, overalls, T-shirts, shirt, blouses, coats and jackets; [ footwear; ] headgear, namely, hats and caps"

then we need to remove [ footwear; ] and apply near concept on the text,
some thing like : NEAR((wine, cheese, “nearby stores”), 5)

What I have tried:

I have tried with a udf, all replace string login in the udf and udf call in the where condition with near on the fulltext column
